It has been a month since I posted the young Golden PB pair with the babies. After some tiring routine (preparing brine shrimp, water changes, clean tank etc), I now present you the videos I took when they are growing up and the 4 weeks old babies from this pair - 70% golden PB + red, maybe 20% turquoise, 10% will be gone after culling. Throughout the month only a few could not make it, now is the most difficult time as they are going to reach 1-inch in size. Need to keep up with the water changes. Wish me luck. A betta life if you want them to live then yes. Unless your tank temperature never changes, and stays between 28 to 32 degrees Celsius all year round. So if you live in Dubai then you probably won’t need a heater.

Yes you can, its best to feed the Variety of food. But if they eat the pellets you can feed them mostly that. Just change it up every once in a while.

my discus have layed eggs on bogwood which is 6" from the surface of a juwel 450 tank. water conditions are good overfiltering with a large filter system also an ocean stream hydra unit. would it be ok to use a large hatchery tank within my own tank?. temp 86f using treated tap water not RO. Help would much appreciated

Do you mean when they are free swimming? At this time make sure the tank does not have any dark objects (for example sponge filter, air stone, deco etc) as the fry will be mistaken that those are their "parents". If your tank is too big then it could be a problem as well, I would suggest max at 2.5' x 1.5' tank. Try to lower the water level so that they could easily find the pair, see my other video on this.

After 7 spawning which fails to raise the fry by parents,,the 8th spawning was successful having 15 fries . its is now on the 15th day eating of mucus from parents body.
