Red Spotted Severum Care - Price, Size, Tank Mates

http://amzn.to/2yZFNkd - Try these brine shrimp cubes once and your fish will go nuts. They’re 100% real brine shrimp. Especially red spotted severums. Brine Shrimp Cubes: http://amzn.to/2yZFNkd Red spotted Severus are my favorite severums on the planet. They are such a beautiful fish. So wait im confused are you new to breeding discus?!?! Because you said your trying something new and that implys your not new, but you have alot of rookie mistakes going on in this tank. Not trying to be rude but here is a couple tips if you are new -heater on the ground not getting any circulation around it so its working extra hard. Its also laying on or really close to the sylicone. Heated sylicone will weaken causing the seam to fail and leak. - small amount of gravel on the ground causing it hard to keep the bottom really clean. Im guessing that's why you have the algae buildup. - your using toxic tubing as a diy breeding cone that has been proven to release toxins and kill fish. - the sponge filter looks like its one of the smallest sizes for a 10g tank and that tank looks like its a 30g But dont worry these are all rookie mistakes but can be easly fixed. If you are new i hope you can learn from thoes of us that have some proper expirience and end up with some fry because from what i can see all i can see the only right thing going on in this tank is a good lookin pair of discus 😉 if your not new to breeding discus then tisk tisk tisk you should know better. I have had this same issues with my 125, added plants, added wood, added more drifter fish, added more discus, added more hiding places. Nothing worked. You have to remember that these are cichlids. That's just who they are. I will say not feeding as much makes them think about food more than fighting and I will say adding more discus helped curb some of the fighting. Went from 6 to 12. The other thing I noticed was the aggressiveness was non existing when I would feed live foods. Gives them something to hunt. You might have a female who is making the tank fight for territory.if your not wanting to breed think about just having males. The ladies make for trouble when not by themselves. I'm also having this problem. I have two that paired up and had eggs last week. I have 6 total and it's a constant battle since these two paired up. Anyone know if it's because of the breeding? Confusing them works for me. Take the fish out and put them in temporary bucks or totes(with air) while u change around the plants, wood and any other decorations u have. Sometimes I just move everything to one side as long as it's different. When u put them back in they will think it's a new environment it will change things up. Sometimes u have to do it more than once so I do it during a wc. But there will always b a pecking order but this still helps. So my dwarf chain swords have been growing out of control lately and I decided to give them a trim while doing a water change when I saw something moving in the grass. Looked a little closer and noticed about 6 tiny baby Cories! Too cool. I love Fish I didn’t have to pay for! Lol. For those with planted tanks...I absolutely love the look what's the best way to get started? Which plants, substrate and all that good stuff. For a discus tank absolutely. Discus and 2 zoomers only. The red spotted severum is my favorite severum. Taking care of these fish is extremely easy.

Awesome video! Here in Canada, it's $30 for a 2" red spotted. I'm still looking for a seller cause it's very hard to find mostly this season.
