Love the new scape, I have to ask though, how come you don't use the brackets for the filter intake/outtake I think they look great and make it way more firm

Thank you for the video George! I would like to say that after seeing Oase and CO2Art being used in your aquariums, I have decided to give them a shot. It really did make the trusting process easier towards both companies. ---- ---- How are your dosing schedules on a new setup ?
Thank you and Happy New Year ! :)

Supreme video like always and my best wishes to u and u family on the upcomming new year from Belgium
I will ask my question now cause it seems i cant catch u online with a stream though
Ive orderd a upgrade on my main tank to 100x55x55 cm with 12mm glas & open tank togheter with about 50Kg of ADA Koke stone
Now i aint so sure if i would start my stone's on the glas ore on the soil
- glas a bit scared with the weight for stresfractures
- soil a bit scared with the weight it wil sink in the soil and destroy the scape
What would u do and Keep on Scaping
WanObi1972
WanObi1972 - 6 years ago
Thanks for the answer and put the time in it George Keep On Scaping :p
George Farmer

Thanks mate.

If you’re careful with the stone you can put straight onto the glass. Or use filter bags with inert media underneath or similar

Hi George, very nice scape as always! Have a question for you pls. I keep Altums and am looking to add some moss to my wood however the Altums are in a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. I know that mosses usually prefer cooler temperatures. Question to you is, which moss is most likely to tolerate the somewhat elevated temperatures? Best regards from Malta!
Malawi Madness
Malawi Madness - 6 years ago
Ok i will ask him to contact you. His name is Kevin Sciberas and his shop name is MC Reef Aquadom. He is not only a reef shop. He gets fresh water and aquatic plants etc too. I will tell him to contact you.

Yes, keep it clean and well trimmed. You can ask Aquarium Gardens for a quote to ship the plant food
Malawi Madness
Malawi Madness - 6 years ago
Hi George thank you so much for your reply. I will ensure that there is enough flow. What do you mean by maintenance pls? Keeping moss clean from debris? Also do you ship your liquid ferts to Malta as in do you have a representative for it here?
George Farmer
George Farmer - 6 years ago
Moss is ok at warmer temps. Good circulation and regular maintenance is more important

This tank is evolving nicely. The "Evolution of Aquascaping" (see what I did there..) is very interesting and quite addicting. I love to observe the progress of planted aquariums as time goes on.

I'd like to request a more in depth discussion on that Twinstar oxygenator if I may. How does it work? The setup method? Philosophy of use and so on. I've never heard or seen something like that and if I dare say so, it kind of looks like a new technological take on the ubiquitous air stone. Would that be a safe general assumption?

That surface skimmer is quite interesting as well. I've heard of them but have not put much thought into their use. Is that something that is required in conjunction with the other apparatuses or is it a stand alone feature? What does it do and is it necessary?

Also, if you could discuss the relationship between the oxygenator and CO2, that would be greatly appreciated. Obviously most of us know what CO2 provides for a planted tank but how do they work together? Can you run just the oxygenator without CO2 or would that be counterproductive? If ran as a singular unit, what advantage does the oxygenator provide over other applicable devices? Placement of each of these previously discussed devices would also be beneficial too. Please and Thank You.

As we have stated before, we are very interested in premium components and we really like the clean look to this tank. The addition of acrylic piping, stainless steal tubing and the tank itself all together make this setup look very crisp and classy. Well done George!

Keep up the good work my friend.

why do you prefer to put the pipes infront?
George Farmer
George Farmer - 6 years ago
The inlet pipe is too long for the background. Also the outlet flow would just hit the background plants and cause poor circulation.
Aquatic Haus
Aquatic Haus - 6 years ago
most likely because the substrates are higher at the back therefore chances of getting drained / clog up the filtration
