One small comment. You should put your powerhead in the bottom of the tank and use a pice of pipe or hose to the top of the hmf filter. That way you will never experience dry runs... If you make a very tiny hole in the top of this outlet pipe/hose and point the hole in the direction of your heater, you will avoid destroying the heater when you make water changes.
