Awesome setup Joe....and boy are you right about the negative effects of microbubbles.....I stupidly dont do much to avoid that.

Do the air pumps cause micro bubbles tho from popping on the surface then circulated by the outlet of the canister or are air sponge and stones safe to use

yeah it definitely can irritate!....I'm planning on switching to an auto water change system sooner or later and am hoping a carbon block filter will help alleviate the excess gasses in the water.

thanks! yeah I used to have water splashing in from the return but I would notice little bubbles on the slime coat on my fish. and also it can irritate they're gills
