eventually I'm gonna get to this. right now my 125 is heavily planted, 0 ppm amonia, nitrite and nitrate. PH is 6.4, 2 drops for KH and 12 drops for GH on the test kit. I have 2 discus amongst many tetras and barbs and only 1 eats well. They are young (2 to 3 inches) so that may be the problem. The temp is approx 81degrees fahr. Any suggestions?

Grow the baby discus out in a bare bottom tank until 5" and move back. Get a minimum of 3 more discus.

it is not so hard. put first a little in the tank, and put it every day a little higher. check your ph and water guality. down't go higher with your Co2 than 25mgl. I hope this wil help you in the procces. good luck.

my tank is 95 gallon. i down't think it's a good thing to do. your tank must be 50 cm high at least.

Hey Andy! Nice tank you got there!
We have almost the same tank in size (120x55x55) and fish species (5 discus, 7 corys, 1 fox algae eater, ~15 cardinal tetras). I've been running it for 2 years now, But i can't get the plants to trive :(
Could you give me some hints on what lights you use, fertilizers, fertile soil? I'm using 3x 28w t5 6500k, fertilization is 5g seachem equilibrium every week (water change) and i used seachems' flourite under pool sand. The plants i have are cryptocorynes, vallisneria, amazon sword, dwarf hygrophila and some anubias. Anything i plant diferent from this, melts away in a month (like hygrophila stricta, i never get it to grow and people says its a easy plant). I also tried the red one you got in the middle, it was growing well, but then started to melt and break. Hope you can give me some advices, thanks
editing: forgot to mention, i have pressurized co2

Yes is use co2. and i refresh every 2e day my water 50%. it is difficult. discus dont like bacteria and much food remains lying between plants. which provides additional bacteria. also the most plants don't like 30° celcius.

Higher temps promotes bacterial growth if you are so worried about bacteria.. I keep my discus at 80f and they are fine
