Thats correct. I know aging would do away with the issue; but my space is limited and I opted for more aquariums rather than a storage tank!

Hello I’m new to the channel saw one vid and decided I would be subscribing! And here I am now!!! Love the channel already!!! And that tank of duck weed if I were to put my turtles in that tank it be gone in like 3 days! It is there fave plant besides Romain lettuce!

Almost all of the driftwood I have came from Tom Barr. I haven't contacted him for quite a while but you might still be able to through his site over at https://barrreport.com/

You should NOT put fish to a tank with air bubbles.Tank not ready for fishes even if parameters are good. Specifically discus fish. Too delicate.

Well I know you're right, but I do get micro-bubbles like that during every water change even in my discus tanks.

That tank looks awesome man. And your creating less and less tanks. Any chance you buy more fish? Or is the plan still downsizing?

Thanks John. I wouldn't necessarily say downsizing. I want to make things easier; and most importantly I want to have more fun in my own fish room! I enjoy getting to work on an old tank and make it interesting and fun to look at again. I also enjoy getting new things in the fish room so I'll definitely make some pick ups here and there!

Yeah I still want to change things up and eventually I will be doing that complete make over. But for now, more so than down sizing, I want to focus on having some fun and making things easier. So I'll combine a few tanks and then work on adding in some ways to automate.

I had plants come in with duckweed and infest my discus display tank. I used an eheim surface skimmer. Worked great for getting those last sneaky bits.

Geez Rich, you have 100 pounds of driftwood. You have enough for 8 more tanks. LOL. I know the feeling, I buy too much also, always have more laying around than I need.

I got so frustrated in the past trying to scape tanks when I didnt have a lot to choose from. So when I found a good source I loaded up and am very glad I did!

Sebastien Blackwell I have 2 turtles if you were to put them both in that tank of duck weed it would be gone in about 4 days!! They love to eat duck weed and Romain lettuce!
