By the way, I hope you killed the Lion Fish, we are having the worst problem you can imagine, they are completely over taking some of our reefs and eating anything that will get in their mouths.

I didn't, but there was a guy behind me with a forked skewer who did! Agreed, those things are a serious problem!! Unfortunately, that problem is out of control. In our film, Roatan 3D Underwater World, there is a scene with a few of them on a skewer.

The RII is a great camera but a bitch to edit time lapse sequences often containing 300-450 42mp stills. Effectively, those stills are over 8K res. Lots of pan and crop room in them. Here is a time lapse film we did last year using the SII and RII.

The RX100 should be a great camera! Actually, I have a Sony A7SII and A7RII but haven't used them underwater yet. I use them for time lapse on my companion, Yosemite Channel. Right now, I only shoot with 3D systems, since that gives me the capability of post processing films in both 3D and 2D versions for this channel.

Very nice video. I just returned from my 2nd trip to Roatan this year. Amazing diving. The grouper on El Aguila are always very photogenic and that reef next to it has more color than any place I've seen. I've got a couple of videos from Roatan and one from Utila up on YouTube already and am just finishing up the last (and hopefully best) this week.

Just recently i was in the barrier reef in Belize. They Have really shallow snorkeling spots that are great. You can also find some Nurse Sharks and some stingrays but if in Roatan go to the South Shore Beach

which dive site was this? we are not divers, and are looking for the best reefs to snorkel on in Roatan that ISNT west bay, west end or half moon bay. so we are looking for the shallower reefs with lots of marine life

I didn't do anything particularly special when filming this video. The camera & housing really do a surprisingly good job for such an inexpensive setup. I did, however, do some post production work on this mainly in form of slightly enhancing the contrasts and blues.

when you say you used the lumix with factory housing, is that all you did to get such stunning picture quality? Or did you use a filter? Also, were there any specific settings you used to help enhance the quality of the picture? thanks!

This video was taken last June 2011. It was edited together from several dives at several dive sites. We always stay at Anthony's Key Resort. This was the 7th time we've been there. You won't go wrong going in any Summer month. It's a well run operation and I like the fact that it's all inclusive. Main event for me on the trip was getting my son certified and diving with him.

Sorry, I don't remember which dive site that was. I remember that I got that video of the Octopus on the last day of an 8 day dive trip. I've been diving for 43 years and haven't kept a log in about 40. My bad! Thanks for the compliment. Much appreciated :)
