Divided Betta fish tank tour fall theme. The divided tank is a 10 gallon. Each Betta has approximately 5 gallons. The substrate is sand and the plants are Anubias, Bacopa, Jungle Val and Marimo moss balls. The window clings and paper came from Walmart. The Betta fish in the tank are a Dumbo Halfmoon called Henry and a Koi Plakat named Theo. i always seem to have bad luck ,even with regular water changes and a heater,5 gallon tank etc :( , im going to try one more time though
do you think red veil tails/veil tails in general are more hardy than other types of betta? so far the marble/fancy color ones seem to be weak for me......

I'd go with 25-30% once a week that will be enough as long as the tank is cycled. Also don't rinse the filter every time, once every 2-4 weeks should be enough. Everything sounds good, I hope it works out for you with your next betta.

Lifewithpets i do have a decent filter with my 5.5 gallon, and usually 60%(over half) water changes every 9/10 days along with rinsing the filter in old water

i have also tried doing smaller water changes more often like 30% every 3-4 days but it didnt make a difference...

I've not found there to be any difference but veiltail are a really good option. Did your tank have a filter, how often did you do water changes and how much?

Would you ever consider selling the tank dividers? Like make bulk in the standard 10 gallon dimensions? I've seen your divider tutorial video and they look awesome, I'm just not at all handy nor have the materials/tools to make one.

We have been asked this a lot lately and have given it a lot of thought. Unfortunately we know from experience that 10 gallon tanks are not exactly the same size. We have several and have had to make completely different sized dividers for each one. So based on that it's not possible to do a one size fits all divider.

I've been wanting to get a baby boy as well. however I am worried I won't be able to keep him going since I've read a few articles that they have special needs as opose to the more grown up betas at petco. Mind me asking what you will be feeding him?

Thank you so much! Most of our plants come from Petsmart but the jungle Val came from a seller on eBay. When it arrived it died back really bad and I didn't think it would grow, but in 4 months or so this is the result and new plants are popping up every week! We use Flourish root tabs and get them on Amazon, we found that's the cheapest place.

I have an elephant ear half moon betta, one of his pectoral fin's is way smaller than the other one. I don't want to say it's fin rot but I just can't figure out why it's like that

If it's fin damage then yes it should grow back. You need to keep really good water quality in the tank so there's no risk of infection.

Lifewithpets I do have a artificial log that has fake plants on it which I will be removing them in case that is the cause..
Do you think it will grow back?

It's possible he's ripped or damaged it. We found with our dumbo that he tore his fins really easily. Once we gave him all natural plants we have not had any problem as all. Check and see if there's anything he could have damaged it on.
