No thx but thanks for the offer. I have a full setup but actually don't run co2 anymore. All I have setup for fw at the moment is a 72 bowfront that I run as a no maintanence system. No dosing, no water changes, Co co2. Just tops offs. Simple is as simple does, slow but steady growth that the angels trim, and a stable tank.

for the sake of plant growth, do you turn the lights on 24/7 or do you still shut it down at night? and if you turn it on 24/7, does it affect your fish in anyway?

Think of it like this.. would you enjoy sun 24 hours a day? Plant respiration and growth changes at night. There is NO benefit to running lights 24 hours a day. All things in nature need a relaxation/sleep period. In the saltwater realm there is some macro algaes that we do run the lights on 24/7, but that is due to the fact that the algae becomes "sexual" during lights out and will then quickly overrun a tank.

would a 20W flood light LED in a 5 gal tank create a nice carpet? with the help of some DIY CO2?

in a 5g the 10w would even be enough. hung about 8" above the tank. 20w is a possibility but may have to run a pretty short light cycle to compensate. Although 20w does also leave option for us one a 10 gallon in the future also. I always try to lean toward the possibility of versatility.

You're going to love that hc when it grows in! Make sure you keep it short as not to get the crap that builds up on it that will kill the bottom layer. Great vid!
