This question is about the aquasurge 4000-8000 if I have 2 units side by side will one remote operate both or I have to use the remotes individually also is this aquarium safe?

Our AquaSurge pump stopped working, thought we were done for. The video showed how to pull the thing apart, and after some cleaning and scrubbing off mineral deposits deposits, it's working again. Thanks!
