Hello Adam, it is not an issue if the heater does not sit completely flat. As for kicking on and off, what is your water temperature while experiencing this issue?

Hey dave kelly. My heater doesn't completely sit flat is that a issue? Is it normal for the heater to kick on for a minute or so.Then kicks off for a minute or so?
Thanks Adam

If the temp is below 0 for extended periods the aerator won’t have enough push to keep a hole in the ice and ice bubbles can form over it. Poly pipe could crack in extreme cold over time. Try an AquaForce 1000 pump, this will provide more pressure adding more turbulence at the water level preventing ice bubbles (freezing). When installing the pump, put it on the first or second shelf of the pond. You don’t want to put in the bottom of the pond as it will super cool the water & harm the fish.

Cold snaps below 0? Anything below 0 you have to do that? I got the pro 60. So with the pro 60 and the heater how you think it will do with the weather we have? You think the pro 60 will be ok with thst weather? Thanks Adam

Adam, Yes, the heater will work, but may have to periodically need to chip ice away for extended cold snaps below 0.

Hi there. I'm thinking of getting the pro 60 plus the heater. Is this heater good for canada Alberta where we have -15 to-25 on a average winter? Thanks Adam

Great question Tussey...in the case of the application shown in the video, the de-icer was positioned over the deepest part of the pond, but along the edge of a shelf where the depth began to rise up about 1 1/2 feet...this is where the aeration disc was positioned. You comment about setting the aeration disc up on a block or something similar such as a stone to raise it off the bottom during the winter is also a good idea.

Cool video. I have the traditional de-icer that it was compared to pictured in this video. That thing kills me every winter for its cost in electricity adding easily $40+ extra per month. At 5 times cheaper, it'd pay for itself in no time. Might pick it up. Thanks.

you said the pond deicer should float above the deepest part of the pond, and that the aerator should go directly below the deicer. You also said to remember not to put the aerator shouldn't go at the lowest part of the pond. Should you set the aerator up on blocks? What is the best way to handle that?
