Echo4nineteen Do you mean from when I added the Eco-complete? I added my Betta once the water cleared out which took a couple of days. And I have an update video that talks about the hair grass.

When you did bury the dwarf grass in your substrate, how far did you place the plant into the substrate?

If you look at the bottom of the dwarf hairgrass, near the roots the grass is a lighter green. I left some of that sticking up from the substrate. With this plant I was told that you should not trim it when you first buy it and to wait a couple of weeks to a month.

How do you clean the bottom of the tank without harming the plants? Do you use a siphon?

I no longer have this plant, but when I did I didn't vacuum the substrate. The plants use the waste of the fish as nutrients and cleaning the substrate can damage the roots and disrupt them. I do my water changes every week when cleaning. Hope this helps ^o^

+Jack smith It would add more nutrients for your plants and give your roots a good foundation to grow. I haven't tried plants in regular gravel with just liquid ferts. It might work but would probably take a lot longer to grow.

+Danny Doty This is from when I first planted it. I no longer have it because my otocinclus cats were ripping it up. So I never got to see how it grew, but I use Leaf Zone and CO2 Booster (liquids) by API. The pieces that didn't get broken up looked like what it did in the video though.

+Matt Bernard Oh okay, I was just wondering cause I haven't really researched other tanks by Fluval other than the Chi and Spec. I keep mine in my room too, so having a silent filter is great!

+Angela Martinez first of all it was hard to scape because of the small opening in the top. The lighting was really poor. It was really dim and had some dark spots. And the filtration system was louder. I have the tank in my bedroom so the spec is noiseless which is awsome. And it Looks less bulky which I like. And to top it off it was a lot cheeper. Edge was $129 spec was $75

+Angela Martinez aww I'm sorry to hear that.. I just set mine up today. So far so good.. I tried to do the fluval edge but it was a disaster p. I took it back and got the spec v. I love it so much more

+Matt Bernard I have the flow rate set to low for the pump. I also have this plastic cover that covers up some of the water slits to minimize the amount of water being sucked up. It also helps to protect my betta's fins. Unfortunately this betta has passed away from old age. I now have a new one that is much younger so I'm hoping he will have a good quality of life.

is the stock light enough to keep all you have pictured alive? I have the same tank and others but want to do a planted tank never had one

+Russell Richards I haven't had any problems with lighting with this tank. Sometimes I move the light and place it on top of the cover (near the front or back) for the plants that like more light. I mostly just leave it in the middle and all my plants seems happy and green.
