Hey Guys got a BIG update going on here. Battling some Issues, but I will take care of it. I forgot to mention that Ive been using GFO, changing it out monthly to help battle phosphates. I did some DIY here, to scrub some live rock in those hard to reach places. All it takes are a few items for the store, make sure to rinse off after use. I was also the lucky winner for the Iodine Tester, and PH Tester. From Aarons Aquariums. Well also take a vist to SEA CREATURES LOCAL FISH STORE (LFS)in EL PASO, TX. I resupplied my clean up crew (CUC) with some Turbo Snails and an Emerald Crab. Jimmy from SEA CREATURES also had a pair of BANGI CARDNIAL FISH with Babies. Very Cool, Enjoy the Update! since you used dry rock was the algae growth caused by the lights, too much phosphate or something else? Thank you

Mainly phosphates. Since ive been using gfo it has reduced. For some reason the snails dont like that rock. It could also be the lighting but mainly phosphates.

+Johann Garcia I like the ZEOvit from what I can see. He expense of it shys me away. But It looks like a lot of people have success using it. Are you going to do SPS? Thats the only way I would really use it.

The mangroves growing in my sump have an led grow light I picked up from an eBay dealer in China on the cheap but l kept some in a cup with only the natural light in the room and they a doing great

Hey thanks Scott, Glad you enjoyed the video today. The Brush was actually my wifes idea, I had her helping me look for brushes and she suggested the Soap Brush Cleaner. I was going to use a hole saw and cut down the first brush on the left.

+ROTTER tube Reef When you do the and. Dont do the whole sand bed at the same time. Do it by sections, 1 secction one week, another the next week. Ive heard of bad things happening if you do it all at once. But yeah man, I think the little Blennys are the coolest fish to watch. They do their own thing.

I've got algae driving me nuts, too... mine is a brown hair algae that nothing seems to eat. I''ve run my NO4 and PO3 so low my sps is pale. I added a foxface, a yellow tang, and various other types of CUC in the tank and none of them touch it. I also tried a sea hare but he croaked in like 48 hours. I clean the rocks off with a toothbrush and two weeks later it's 2" long again. Grrr!! Good luck with yours, looking good otherwise! Thanks for the update

ROTTER tube Reef Yeah, I got both of them... I forgot to mention the lawnmower blenny. He DOES eat the algae (unlike the fox face and the yellow tang), but he can't keep up. It's kind of funny, he's so fat that when he sits on the bottle, his side fins don't touch! haha

+915Mang I don't know if they have Dollar Tree stores near you, but they sell 6 packs of toothbrushes (in a plastic holder) for a buck. They're not too soft, and at $.17, it's not too painful to toss them when they wear out. ;)

+mnelson10000 instead of cleanup crew, get a lawnmower blenny or fox face fish. both are awesome at algae control. i'm getting away from cleanup crew. they die and i'm tired of replacing them.

Man thats to bad that the sea hare didnt make it, ive thought about getting one, but I always get coral over fish,lol or clean up crew.Ive been running my GFO now for about 3 months, and every month I change it out. I like toothbrush, but the bristles are to soft.
