In this tank I was actually using sand, Eco complete and pea gravel. I had no soil and the plants were grown to perfection, so this shows that soil is not always necessary, but it does make it easier for beginners.
My question to you is.
I'm using co2 for my 80 gal planted tank. After a few weeks ok over a month lol. now its finally established, wasn't easy. But now everything is going good. I have good filtration in the tank, but there is a lot of co2 bubbles on the surface of the tank. Should I put in a air stone to move the water on the surface or buy a wave maker and direct it on the surface, to get rid of the bubbles. Or is that normal.
And your video on clipping your plants was very useful. Especially when someone doesn't have s clue..

take the total length of your tank and divide it by 1.6 to get the golden ratio. The number you get, say in inches is where you want to place the object. If you measure from the right side of your tank, starting with one, place your centerpiece at the number you get. 48" tank divided by 1.6 = 30" so I would place my focal point at 30" from either the left side or right side, it doesn't matter which one. Your driftwood is offset so that is good, it looks pretty close to the golden ratio. To get the maximum effect I would slope the right side higher than the left because the left already has the driftwood. You wan to slope both sides, but do the right side higher and it will look more appealing. If you do rocks with driftwood make sure the rocks are smaller than the driftwood. It looks like the driftwood is pretty large, you don't want them to be the same size, if you do a concave look with slopes on each side and sand in the middle, one side should be longer than the other, they shouldn't be the same size or length, make the driftwood side smaller before it touches the sand yet the driftwood is larger, then make the stone side longer until it touches the sand yet the rocks are smaller. See how this creates a nice mirrored effect throughout the scape and the driftwood can be the MAIN focal point placed at the golden ratio. I hope this helps.
i like it a lot !!!!
and it looks good from other angle in your another video.
