The National Paddlesports Safety System poromotes safe and enjoyable paddlesport recreation. This video targets users of sit-on-top and decked sea kayaks. Topics include: Preparing for cold water, properly fitting a lifejacket, and performing basic rescues. Specific Hazards are addressed including tidal currents, strong wind, cold, fog, wave action and other boating traffic. This video was produced by the American Canoe Association in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard under a grant form the Aquatic Resources (Wallop-Breaux) Trust Fund administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
