Cool video. However, I don't want to come off as a smartass. But a skipjack is actually a shad, of in herring family of fish. It is not a Tarpan! Sorry I catch them for catfish bait for flatheads and blue catfish. They are found in brackish water and in a lot dam areas. When the skipjack are running that is the first sign of the spawn for fish in the spring time. They meaning skipjack are the early spawners. There is also a skipjack tuna. Not in the same family as the skipjack shad. Keep the cool videos coming.

Skipjack are close cousins of Hickory shad. Difference is skippies are found in waters that eventually flow into the gulf and skippies never go into salt water. Hickorys are found in east coast drainages that drain to atlantic but are are only in the rivers late february to april give or take a little bit as the rest of the year they are ocean fish and only come to freashwater rivers to spawn. got a bunch of videos on them.
