brett visions i bought the H12 for fishing mainly but take my small boys with me occasionally. Works well with one child in front and one behind (and I’m a large guy)

"At 76lb, you can easily load on your car"? Please show how you do this. I'm very interested in this kayak but loading and unloading keeps me from buying. I have just made a "loader" but even question this. Also, what about your kayak cart, how do you transport 100+ yards to the water? I have to consider this too, and I won't always be right by the water. Where I fish now, it's 20 yards to the water, so not too bad. In other lakes it's perhaps 1/4 mile or so.

Nice video but wanting to see / hear about how you load it on your car. I tried to lift one at bass pro, not easy at all to get off the ground even an inch. Also, please provide details to which cart / wheels you are using and how they connect to the H12

i bought this kayak in September of lay year , only had it out 4 or 5 times. very stable , to me it doesn't seem slow , goes quite easily. I'm a big boy at 315lbs and it handles me n my gear very well. Glad i bought it , paid $800 bass pro only one complaint now that i think about it , the bags fir storage that hang on sides hang down and last on floor and not water proof so any wateryou drag in when getting in soaks whatever is in them. I'm gonna make an adjustment to then.

I've owned the FS10 and the FS12T. I was happy with the 10 but wanted a sit on top. hated the 12T. it was super slow. how does the H12 rate vs the ones I've owned? is it slow like the 12T?

good info man!! quick question... would the kayak still be stable for a someone who is 6'7" 270lbs? I know the weight capacity is 450lbs but just from your knowledge of the kayak would you think I have any problems standing or possibly sitting due to height?

I have been looking at the ascend 12' sot kayak because the river that i typically kayak on is shallow so it is necessary to get off the kayak often, would you recommend this kayak for shallow water, also does this kayak drain easily or does it fill with water...........

+ben terwellen Honestly, in terms of draining, the kayak has every bit the identity of a Sit-in-kayak so, draining won't happen if you tip over unless you carry a bilge pump. Having said that, I do think this kayak would be great in shallow water because of its tunnel stepped hull on the bottom. It would provide a really stable ride. One last thing is...is there a lot of current on the river you yak? If so, you might be better off with the shorter kayaks like the FS10T or the FS10. Either way, let me know how it goes. I'm really excited for the H12. We just had the spring classic at bass pro shops and I gave seminars on kayak fishing. The hype was all about the H12! Hope this helps.

Hello, I would like to know what kayak from bass pro would u recommend for me. I'm 6'3 270 lbs, new to kayaking, most of the time ill be using it on lakes. every now and then I'll be shark fishing. so I'll be yaking out baits.

+Horacio Rodriguez Good question! I would check out the FS12t. It's a great kayak which would definitely be able to handle the types of fishing you're doing. Very stable as and can do well on longer trips. The new FS128T is nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the seat. It's a little higher up and may be a little too tipsy in the ocean, but if you fasten the seat down with something other than the provided bungee, you can definitely make that work as well. +Yakin Yahoos I usually go on a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters once or twice a year. This is definitely easier than flipping a canoe back over.

Where does water drain? If Hybrid Kayak then there should be at lease 4 to 6 scupper holes available. If not have to carry a bilge manual pump at least. Other than that, LOOKS GREAT.. Love it...

+gabe428 Hey bro, yeah I definitely wish it was a hybrid that weighed more on the side of a sit-on-top but this one leans more towards a sit-in in that respect. The ability to stand is a great feature but definitely gonna have to pack a bilge pump with the absence of scupper holes. Still...like you said, some good innovation and great applications. +Jason Raby Really depends on the type of fishing you do. In my waters I would be a little hesitant to take it out on Lake Michigan trolling for Kings (but I would still do it =) I love the fs12t for the ability to take on big water as well as small lakes. The H12 can definitely do that, but you would really have to be mindful of the winds if your fishing big water. I think the H12 has a lot more upside in everything else. It's a dryer ride, it just feels more comfortable when I'm sitting in it, and I can pack more gear on my longer trips. If you're looking for these features it might be a good upgrade for you. Hope this helps.

I'm sure this cost less than the Jackson Big Rig but I really think the Jackson is by far the best fishing yak made. At $1,700.00 it should be I suppose and that's without the bells and whistles. I came so close to buying the FS12 Ascend and still may to save a grand. I wish there was a local event where all these fishing yaks could be evaluated together.

+gabe428 You know you are 100% correct. Buying more than I need has been one of my biggest faults many many times. I have the bad habbit of getting all wound up over a new hobbie and blow crazy money on what's considered the best. Then I loose interest and I have another pricey object taking up space.

I got to looking at the Ascend H12 Hybrid online at Bass Pro and that is a sweet yak. They have one in a brown color. Heck the money I will save I could put towards a trailer.

+Roger Stevens I agree on being able to test both at same time. But Im sure if you look you might be able to test a local dealer that carries Jackson and you can test. Ascend I think is only sold by Bass Pros only, but they have a return policy which allows you to return within 7, 10, or even 14 days if not satisfied. But for me is the PRICE.. Just can not seem to buy a Native, Jackson, Ocean Kayak, Eddie, or Hobbie Kayaks for over $1500.00 to $2000.00. Can buy a Kayak on Steroids at that price like a GHEENOE,.. LOL.. Manufacturers making same rodo molded kayaks, good quality, now also high seats, like VIBE kayaks (come with ruder assembly too), Pelican, and even Feel Free has some models at under $1000.00..

+Roger Stevens Honestly, I'm with you on this one. The Jackson Big Rig is in my opinion probably one of the best out there, especially for the type of fishing I do out on lake Michigan. Still, glad to hear that you regarded the Ascend high on your list to compare it to the two.

+Gustavo Garcia Hi Gusatvo. I'm glad the kayak caught your attention. It's a great kayak for the beginner and the seasoned angler. I would recommend this one unless you're fishing the ocean or the Great Lakes. If that's the case, I would opt for a true sit-on-top kayak to keep you safe in case you tip. There are 3 things I can think of you're referring to. There are straps that are coming from the back to lower sides, for folding and adjustments for the back. There are numerous adjustment slots you can sticking up. These obviously allow seat adjusts, forward or back. Then there are saddle bags so to speak on each side. These allow for storage. Also, one more thing, there is a cup holder as well. I recently went down to basspro and saw this kayak close up.
