SC EM this is a very affordable fishing kayak in its class. $700 .. in result it is made out of low quality materials but it’s all I could afford at the time and has caught me a lot of fish.

Grab a hdpe plastic bucket at local hardware store. The type with the recycling triangle and a #2 inside the triangle. That is the type of material your kayak is made of. Cut out a piece of the bucket to the approximate size of the hole in Kayak. Melt down your patch piece to around 400-450° (oven ,toaster oven,etc..) . Carefully Warm up the kayak where the repair is needed (use heat gun or small pencil torch) . When kayak is warmed up and patch is pliable stick them together, mold to the original shape, let cool. Good as new!!!!

Sleeve it with a double end thread pipe. Fill the void with marine grade silicone and in the inside, marine grade epoxy. Those wheel bars broke because I had to much slop in the scubber holes

Sorry about your kayak. Im sure you can fix that with no worries of leakage. Plenty of people on these comments seem to have an understanding of fixing kayaks. At least it wasnt a Bass Boat that you have to fix...LOL.
If you have never tried it before, you should try Float Tube Fishing. We fish out of float tubes quite a bit and its a blast. Take Care friend.

If you can get it use 3M DP8005 or DP8010. They are industrial and not packaged for consumer use but you may be able to find some The other problem is they require an applicator and mixing nozzles can get expensive but it is cheaper than replacing your kayak they work similar to epoxies but are a structural LSE Acrylic made for polyethylene like your kayak. I do tech support for 3M industrial adhesives and tapes. Good luck

I bought an 80 watt plastic welder from Harbor Freight for less than $20 and used it to repair two kayak hulls. Your kayak can be saved using this tool. I wrote a blog about that experience here:

I also recommend plastic weld. You should have, and still should, put a length of PVC pipe over those cheap metal pipes that go into the scuppers to act as a sleeve to protect the scupper walls. I would also add a gusset going forward and backward to limit the rocking in the scuppers forward and backward.

All-Fix 2 part everything proof epoxy putty. Works on kayak hulls...worked on my jet ski hull too. I would just cut some lengths of PVC pipe and use the putty around them. Squish them in, and sand everything flush. Nothing will ever break through those scupper holes again.
Stuff dries so hard you can drill, and tap it.

Some advice, flip the LCD screen on your camera around so I don't have to watch you talk to yourself. As far as the kayak, just get a plastic welding kit and melt some new plastic into the hole.

Foam up the holes and cut it flush then add a layer fiberglass with epoxy, once dry, spray that latex water sealer about two or three layers. If u want an extra layer add one more layer of fiberglass.

Have you thought about getting some PVC pipe about the same diameter, then coat them in plenty of silicone or other sealant, put them into the holes and then use more sealant to make sure they don't leak. Or plastic weld them in and your problems are solved.

weedsnager Actually Epoxy is the easiest,and cheapest way to fix it. Got a kayak that was on a billboard. It had 48 bolt holes for mounting it. Don't ask why. Anyway The yak is still leakproof 7 years later.

I would fix it using PVC flared on the end, soften and mold the Kayak to the flared PVC. Epoxy the one end where the flare is. Once dry, grind and sand smooth, cut other end flush with deck and seal the edge with silicone to allow for flex. Problem solved.

You can mend holes in the poly- plastic kayaks with wood burning heat tool and a poly plastic garbage can from wall-mart for material.. I have even added fins and other things to mine, compartments, paddle holders, etc. The iron comes with a point tool, flat tool, etc. Even cola bottles can be melted for material. Learn to avoid burning blackening the plastic , avoid breathing any smoke. .... good luck

Find the size pvc to match the bore of the existing holes with pipe being slightly smaller than bore. Bore the holes in kayak to fit pvc pipe. Cut pipe with internal pvc stoppers added to exact length of hole. Heat pipe ends over open flame until discoloured. Apply epoxy to both ends of pipe whilst positioned in place. Observe recommended dry time. Cut pvc pipe to cover existing pipe ends in broken cart, glue in place.

It can be fixed with nylon enforced tubing the 3m5200, Stop putting stuff thru the scuppers, they are the weakest point in a kayak get a set of wheels that fold.

Use the wheels and axle from that bad scupper hole cart and use to make a pvc cart that fits in the channels on bottom of the yak, then just strap it to yak with Cam lock strap.

Sorry to hear about your kayak! You can fix those tears easily, though. You need some of the same material it's made of, and a heat gun. There are several videos on here as to how it's done. The repairs are very sturdy, and if you use thicker materials, you can probably build up those scupper holes to where they are "lined" with something stronger, like PVC or something like that. It'll handle the wheel frame more easily. Good luck!

White 5 gallon plastic bucket. Cut a nice piece out, Heat gun it a little bit.. low heat your kayak and smear it on it. The plastic(s) should bond together easily and you'll be back out on the water in no time.

Had the same thing happen on mine 4 years ago. I ended up using JB Weld. No issues since. For good measure though, I applied to the walls first, let it dry, then JB welded a cut piece of pool noodle into the hole and JB welded it in. I lost the benefit of the scupper, but no leaks.

scupper hole carts are never a good idea, during the roto-molding process the material never gets as thick in the kiss off/scupper hole areas, the outside surfaces become much thicker, I design tooling for the roto-molding process so I have some experience with this

Just a suggestion to prevent reoccurrence you can make your own that rides under the kayak with the weight on horizontal beams and using a four way fitting have it go through the scupper holes for positive location of the cart. Look at palmetto kayak cart instead of the t use a four way with pipe suitable to fit through your scupper holes as well

Why don't you use two sets of wheels, one in the front scuppers and another in the middle scuppers? Then you can mostly pull it like a wagon or cart. Less strain and work.

Get some G Flex gel epoxy from West Marine.
I've watched holes and I've mixed chopped fiberglass to rebuild my keel.
You can fix you yak with this stuff.

Can verify the G Flex is amazing. Bought an Old Town canoe made from HDPE for cheap because the owner crashed into a rock or something and crunched the front pretty good. Used some fiberglass cloth and the G Flex and it's good as new. Just watch some videos to see how to use it.

I’ve gotten 100+ subs this week which is good for me so clearly others like the style of my videos. I’ve posted boring titles before and that doesn’t get people’s attention amongst all the other exaggerated titles on YouTube. Honestly I hate having to exaggerate but it’s just the name of the game. Sorry

Thanks for the video. As for the repairs, I'm thinking you can. My first thought was that tape I see advertised on TV, FlexTape. Maybe fill the holes with a bit of expandable foam for home insulation first, then smooth it off and then tape.

Scupper carts are never a good idea for any kayak but Hobie's. They are the only boat that has scuppers strong enough for a scupper cart. Get the C-Tug cart for your next one. It's worth the money and you won't be getting a new yak.

Benjamin Quirk it’ll work you just have to set it and the strap just right. On my slayer I like to place the strap on either side of a rod holder on the track or the cleats for the bungee to prevent slippage. Do not use ratchet straps!!!

You probably learned this after the fact, but most kayak manufactures do not recommend using scupper hole carts. In fact, most will tell you that your hull warranty will be void if you use one. Always use a sit-on-top cart.

You can make a pvc set of yak wheels for it I do you can find how it’s done on you tube I go one step farther by reinforcing the up rights that go in scuppers with a 3/4” Dwell 36” cut in half and epoxied in makes them super strong

Put a rectangular hatch in the space or a 8” round in front of them then plastic weld the from the inside be the easiest way

Go get some plastic tubing the size of the whole, cut it to fit and sleeve the existing wholes. Plastic weld or silicone in place. Don't throw away a good kayak. Change the wheel set up to strap on vs sleeve on system.If you can't get it to work let me know and I'll fix it for you.

Scupper carts are horrible brotha, this shit happens to them all the time, your lucky it didn't crack your scupper holes. FYI, do to these problems, using a scupper cart instantly voids the warranty on your hull

Whether you fix or replace the kayak, you should consider the C-Tug cart. Just about any scupper-hole cart is eventually going to put unnecessary stress on the plastic.

I had C-Tug cart for the longest on my NuCanoe Frontier 10 and it works great. Now with Frontier 12 i got Boonedox Landing Gear which is more expensive (aprox. $300) but its life saver. With Boonedox no need to take wheels off. You just twist them down if you rolling down the road and ones in the water just put them up. Link:

OhioOutDoorsmen even if he did that’s the structural keystone of a yak. It’ll never stay sealed due too the stress that spot holds.

Never, EVER stick anything thru scuppers! Get a C-tug cart for the next one and chalk it up to lesson learned.

Like I said if you can afford to go with a Yi, I would go that route before the Akaso, but the Akaso is hard to beat for the price and the sets on Amazon have great stuff for starting out, been looking at them myself and just can't justify getting GoPro when they cost so much more just because of their early market share.

That's what i was saying, then can even sand it down a little and use an epoxy fiberglass repair patch on both sides and when the epoxy soaked fiberglass hardens it will be tougher anyway.

Might can actually use the hard foam insulation like great stuff and try to fill in the gap then actually coat both sides after smoothing it with fiberglass repair and epoxy.
