I just picked this kayak up at rural king in Knoxville, TN for $299. Not sure if it’s the same price everywhere, but if you have a rural king nearby, check them out. Haven’t had it out yet, but rigged it with a fish finder and some small tackle boxes for the crate. Seems like it’s going to be a very nice kayak for the lakes and river near me.

Still got my basic pelican kayak. Some days I don't feel like loading the crate, the mirage drive, the seat, etc. You just wanna grab the light pelican kayak toss it over your shoulder and hit the water. I've been in the pelican in some windy lake waters and it has performed great!

Marty does a great job at making it look easy. While the kayak is very stable, it would depend on your balance, size and learning curve to stand up fish from it ;-)

Good review Aliex...I'm starting to like the Pelican, mainly because of the price point. Especially the new one, the Catch 130 with the mirage style system. I'm curious to see what the final product will look like...I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than a Hobie PA series.
