The Bixpy is a modular motor system designed to allow the user to transition from a variety of watersports using the same motor unit! The Bixpy is small in size but big in business and packs a powerful punch when cycling through its 10 speeds. The lightweight battery system and remote both float which gives the user extra peace of mind. The motor is designed with NASA inspired propeller, stainless steel/corrosion resistant components, and brushless motor for efficiency/longevity. Lots of research and development has gone into the system and it has been tested on a multitude of crafts.

We look forward to hopefully getting a Bixpy and some mounts so we can get you further info on it. We have been following the development of Bixpy for well over a year. We were excited to see it at iCAST 2017.

I just tested the Swim Jet Scuba Edition In Key West!!! This thing has insane boost. Almost hard to hold onto. Tons of thrust. For freediving/snorkeling it is a blast!

They have universal kayak mounts, traditional transom mounts, and universal kayak rudder mounting. They don’t do only Hobie.

I don’t know why either. It is just the name they used in marketing. ScubaJet is a similar product but true jet drive. This is actually a ultra-lightweight prop drive.

It is an expo trade show type event so no good way to demo on actual kayak. They seem well liked by those that got them. They are about half the price of Torqeedo but double BassYak or Island Hopper setups. Big difference between the less expensive alternatives is weight, size, and modular mounting system. That makes Bixpy desirable to many. I could mount on on my Hobie then go offshore..then swap Bixpy to handheld mount and dive a reef. I look at this the same way as I do bicycle market. You have Walmart bikes and you have the Treks and high end carbon fiber bikes used in races. It is a great price for those that need lightweight motor setups. Heck the smart battery floats. Also it is a new business. So maybe as they sell they can offer lower cost options. It would be foolish for them to price so low that they can’t sustain. The batteries and electronics are expensive likely to R&D and produce. Give it some time. They are half the price of the other major player in the space so they should be able to grow and offer new options in future that fit other people’s budgets. Thanks for stopping by the channel Mike! The big benefit of Bixpy is the lightweight setup, floating smart battery, and modular mounts. It is more than just a trolling motor. I don’t own one but would like to sometime. It is half the price of Torqeedos.

Maybe could but the large benefit is the lightweight battery which floats! I would like to see a solar charger solution. Think that would be cool. Might get a Bixpy for the new kayak.

Yeah heard same thing. If they give me one I will gladly give my impressions in video review and put it through the paces on my kayaks/sup. Like I said at iCAST if felt solid and well made. The owner actually already not only tested this but tested it on SEVERAL different makes and models of paddle crafts. I have no contracts or sponsorship agreements with this company. I chose to film it since I found it to be relevant and because I have been following the company's work for a while. I haven't owned a Torqeedo, but in holding a Torqeedo motor setup I think Bixpy's system feels better made. Just my opinion on perceived quality. I could be wrong, but surely after enough ship out we will have some data to go off of as well.

+CMonsta Florida Fishing it felt solid at iCAST. I plan to get one for testing pretty soon. They tested it on several big name kayaks. Perceived quality of battery pack and motor I thought was great. Testing it will let me know if it is as good as I think it is.

I have been looking for something like this to attach to my rubber boat. I want to relax and enjoy sun and swimming and attach something at bottom of my boat and control it by joystick or something like that.

I dont wanna anything big instalments like you would need when using normal electric motors for boats.

+gundorethemighty it will be too much for many people's budgets but it is priced more affordably than other motor drive systems in the market. Torqueedo is much pricier. I love the modular mount system. Makes it to where my investment could be used more. I really want to try the handheld.

successful ? what was their revenue last year ive never heard of the motor and im sure many people havent either so how can it be that sucessful .. on a small scale sure maybe ... the handheld is reallly the only value i see

+Str8 sauce it is actually about $1000 lower in price than the already successful Torqueedo motors sold. I prefer Bixpy over Torqueedo. I like that it is modular. The handheld setup looks like a blast.

+John Mykill these are much less than the Hobie Evolve Torqueedos. The island hopper is a much heavier system especially with deep cycle battery. This system has a low profile battery that floats, remote, and is modular to work on multiple crafts. They will easily sell these.

How many #s of thrust? Seems like your stepping around it cause its probably not even as strong as a 35# $125ish trooling motor.

+chublez not side stepping around it. It is totally different than a trolling motor. It is much more compact, achieves speeds that are impressive for its size, has battery system that floats and is modular so it can be used in many different ways on the water. Even a 30Lb thrust wouldn't match performance. Not to mention try to take that same trolling motor and make it fit easily on a kayak, SUP, handheld, etc. Trolling motors aren't designed for higher speeds. The props typically have wrong pitch for the higher speeds. The Bixpy was designed for speed and performance. It was meant to compete with Torqeedo motors. I think it will do that very well.

I'm not saying don't put a trolling motor on a kayak. I'm saying this does things that trolling motors don't. It is more convenient in size and has smart design features that some will like.

Also size isn't everything. A smaller motor with better design and propeller system can outperform larger motors and be more efficient. I have no idea what "lb" thrust the Bixpy is but that seemed irrelevant to me after testing it. I also saw the test data. I will be getting one to test myself in near future.

Great idea. But I can't find a mount of any kind for my Kaku Kahuna paddleboard. Not even for a typical trolling motor. ☹️ DM me if you know of an option.

I followed a YouTube video and used two bilge pump motors, a solar panel and a 12 volt battery and for less than $100 bux I can run all day in my Vibe Sea Ghost with the motors mounted on my rudder.

Still a lot less money than the popular Torqeedo motors that are for kayaks and many of the new kayaks which offer their own brand of motor setups. Bixpy is the lowest price lithium universal/modular motor on the market. The battery floats which is something that can't be said of other setups.

is there a mount for a predator 13? hobie seems like a dumb host seeing as you're already hands free. I get it most people that would have a hobie probably have more disposable income. Also how permanent is it? I didn't buy the minn kotta predator because it's big and more of a " poor man's " motor boat. I'm looking for something to occasionally troll with a down rigger and easily go back to paddling.

+mathew767 if all else fails might be able to build a setup. The go to motor is a Watersnake T24 because it is lightweight and compact. The battery on the other hand is heavy unless you plan to spend a lot for lithium. If you do then you could just as well buy Bixpy because it is a refined product and comes with a great battery. I love that the battery floats.

I believe a kit like the Hobie one is $1099.
Extra adapters to use same motor I believe are $149 or so. This is about $1000 less than Torquedo motors Hobie has previously sold/promoted. Also pretty awesome the battery floats. It is quite lightweight as an overall package.

Awesome setup. $1k seems steep but well worth it if its a super clean install. a 6lb battery seems legit and small enough to stow in front hatch of a Hobie.

+Larry Talbot the expensive battery technology and price of R&D only let them price it so cheap. It is actually half the price of a Torquedo motor system ($2000) and the additional mounts are not badly priced in my opinion. It is also only about $200-300 more than a Hobie M180 Pedal Drive. To me it is priced well for the market and could actually be higher. Also I feel it has some better features than nearest competitors. The floating battery & remote was a big surprise.
