The big benefit of Bixpy is the lightweight setup, floating smart battery, and modular mounts. It is more than just a trolling motor. I don’t own one but would like to sometime. It is half the price of Torqeedos.

I'm not saying don't put a trolling motor on a kayak. I'm saying this does things that trolling motors don't. It is more convenient in size and has smart design features that some will like.
Also size isn't everything. A smaller motor with better design and propeller system can outperform larger motors and be more efficient. I have no idea what "lb" thrust the Bixpy is but that seemed irrelevant to me after testing it. I also saw the test data. I will be getting one to test myself in near future.

I believe a kit like the Hobie one is $1099.
Extra adapters to use same motor I believe are $149 or so. This is about $1000 less than Torquedo motors Hobie has previously sold/promoted. Also pretty awesome the battery floats. It is quite lightweight as an overall package.

Awesome setup. $1k seems steep but well worth it if its a super clean install. a 6lb battery seems legit and small enough to stow in front hatch of a Hobie.
