Keep talking, Aliex. You are about to sell my little Flounder Girl on that Pelican. She owns a 10 ft Pelican now...but wants the 130 to take down to the coast....which means I'll have to buy two. And it will be ALL YOUR FAULT ! LOL ! I could buy another guitar with that money...darn it.

What is it with your hatred toward rivets? Unless they end up failing they are a lighter option. I rivet a ton of stuff. If you use the right rivets for the job they are a great alternative.

Umm i would try to see how strong they are in the HD but I don't want to break this boat lol I just had bad experience with rivers before and the handles on the HD don't feel as firm as I think they should.

+Aliex Folgueira we have our R&D department doing some tests now to give you some stats on the performance of the rivets we use. They've also been challenged to find out how much force would be needed to actually rip out our rivets ;-)

You got the numbers reversed. The Compass is 68lbs not 86lb. That's a lot when car topping. Otherwise good review. Don't forget to rip the Compass for not having any way to car top it without scraping the rudder. That's my Biggest issue. They addressed it for the new Outback but not the Compass. One other plus on the Compass is the included center hatch. It is extremely handy.

The pelican is great for the market but I would choose the compass over the pelican the quality is better compass looks better. My 2 cents

I think the Catch 130 is pretty good looking but the Compass is also a bit lighter at 68lbs. (not 87lbs). Center hatch on Compass is the clincher. I have a Compass and want to get one more but I am waiting and hoping they address the rear rudder protection issue like they did for the new Outback. The light weight of the Compass was the whole reason I got it. With that said, It is the hardest to cartop because of the rear rudder.

One thing that you did say that's always stuck with me in one of your past videos is that you can always sell a Hobie and I think that was one of the determining factors why I bought that compass plus the 68 pound weight was a major factor also. I'm 51 years old and I thought if I keep it a long time loading and unloading would be what made me purchase that.

+Aliex Folgueira I thought it was a good review I like my compass but I also like the flat open spaces on that pelican .You could really do a lot of modifying on the pelican.I'd like to have a cooler in front of me when I'm fishing, can't do that on the compass
