Couldn't help but notice that you took the left-hand side of the rock island at Moccasin Gap. I have seen too many wipe-outs on the right-hand side. When I canoe fish this section, I always go FAR left because I have wiped out twice in the canoe on the near left-hand side of the rock island. Plenty of fish to be caught in this section of the river, usually behind the islands and big rocks in the eddy water. Check out my fishing channel, the Sieweke Creek Fishing Channel. Lots of good spotted bass caught on small creeks in Central Alabama. I haven't made a video of the Coosa below Jordan yet, but I plan to in the near future.

I agree with what you're saying, but as an angler that has fished this river solidly since the early 80's, I can tell you that I have sank a perfectly good flat bottom jon boat on the "left side of Moccasin Gap". Its all in what the river is doing for that day and what skills you have. Be safe and fish on Bro!! :)

9:15 --> That guy can catch some big spots! I accompanied him once fishing in December. He pulled out a few that would make you want to fish through this freezing weather. Heck, we didn't even get to slow down and fish as much as I normally like to that day!

Nice river , I've heard about it before , looks like all spotted bass ,,, no smallmouth ? Isn't their a special , smaller bass that's only found on the Coosa ? , kinda looks like a smallie ?

How does the coosa handle the rapids and low river water runs?. Did you feel completly stable? Was the seat in the high or low position? Thanks. I have a Coosa and looking forward to get it in a river. I had it in a lake and a Bay and it did well.

The kayak is a Jackson Coosa. It was a demo boat in a store in Birmingham, AL that I got lucky enough to buy. Fishing poles aren't anything special. A couple rod and reel combo setups (spinning and baitcasting) from Gander Mountain. Good Luck!
