je m'y intéresse depuis qq temps car un bateau pliable dans le commerce c'est la peau du c.. et quand on a besoin de plusieurs exemplaire il faut vendre un bras !! les explications sont très claires complètes et c'est vrai que l'esthétique est au top !! vite vite je t'encourage !!
Ou en es tu du projet de canoë?
Dans les commentaires tu parles de la taille idéale à 3,6X1,5m, il semble que l'on puisse commander des plaques de cette taille sur le site. Dans ce cas penses tu qu'il faille simplement faire une règle de 3 pour agrandir?
Je n'ai malheureusement pas de solution pour le moment pour trouver des plaques de cette dimension. Personnellement j'ai passé une commande chez un fabriquant de plastique proche de Dunkerque afin de réaliser mes prototypes.
Le projet de canoe est terminé et a été testé il y a 10j sur le lac Leman. Il faut que je trouve le temps pour réaliser les videos pour le fabriquer. Cependant cela ne résout pas le problème pour trouver le plastique. J'ai contacté quelques entreprises pour savoir si elle pouvait réaliser une sorte de "kit" avec le pliage déja réalisé, mais avec les vacances je n'ai toujours pas de réponse.
La règle de 3 ne fonctionne pas forcement, bien que la structure aura la même forme il faut qu'il y ait assez de portance pour soutenir le point d'une personne.
Je vais essayer de voir avec PixartPrinting si je peux avoir une version du canoe sur un panneau de 3m (disponible sur leur site) afin de voir si cela peut fonctionner, pour le moment j'ai testé avec 5m de longueur et 3m60.

Merci pour ton commentaire positif.
Le plan est le bon pour une impression chez pixart comme je l'explique dans la vidéo.
Seulement si tu n'es pas pressé, je suis en train de préparer une nouvelle vidéo pour réaliser un canoe pliable bien plus stable et resistant que le kayak, je la posterai dés que possible.
D'autres vidéos sont prévues, j'ai eu quelques contre temps cette année pour les réaliser, mais j'essayerai de poster de nouveaux projets aussi rapidement que possible !

if possible you can put pictures of how you made the prow? Do you use one tire?

If you make your holes in different position than mine, the template will be false.
Make your own piece using duct tape as a guide and transfer it on the metal sheet.

For the prow, I used a bike tire cut in half and locked in place with velcro.
Tu vas utiliser beaucoup de papier pour pas grand chose.
Je vais essayer de mettre prochainement en ligne un plan avec les dimensions. Il te suffira de reporter les valeurs sur le plastique à l'aide d'un marqueur et d'une grande règle.
But it's important to set the grooves of the seat perpendicular to the grooves of the kayak bottom. That will increase the strength of your structure.
1. How do you waterproof seams on top of the kayak ?
2. How you make a draw\scheme on the plastic, I mean you made a print or you made it yourself ?
3. If yourself where did you get dimentions of each piece ?
I will try to give you nice answers.
1. I can't really waterproof the top of the kayak. With a regular use, the top of the kayak doesn't go under the water.
To prevent any splashes, I used duct tape (2 pieces, sticky side on sticky side) to create a "seal" kept in place with the straps.
2. As i explained on the video, I did a template on illustrator, matching with the size of the plastic.
I am not able to find a corrugated plastic sheet with this size in regular shop so I ordered the material from the printer, uploading the file available here : http://beaversnation.com/?media_dl=11594
(This is the same price, with or without print on the plastic).
3. I am also able to do it by hand, but that will requiere more time measuring each pieces and drawing the lines.
Are you looking for the dimensions ?
I am currently working on a canoe using the same plastic, tools and skills, drawing by hand each dimensions !
That's the difference between polycarbonate and polypropylene.
In my local store, i wasn't able to find something bigger than 1m20 by 80cm, it's why i ordered it on the print website.
Where are you from ?
Have you tried? the material is about 250€ here, so it would be uncool if it will crack..
I believe the best ratio is 3m60 by 1m50 but i wasn't able to find something bigger than 3 meters.
What kind of plastic do you have ? Because i only know about "polycarbonate" for transparent plastic and that's not working with this material, it's breaking :(
The rubber part is made from a bike inner tube (air chamber) cut in half, cleaned with soap to glue velcro strap with epoxy, allowing you to remove the black part to fold your kayak.
