thanks Callum !! mate use fresh baits , e.g. squid, tailor, live yellowtail, etc fish the tides on slack, find some structure and look for the bait :) plenty of good spots in the Clyde !! hope you get one :)

No spear fishing fresh water or land locked lakes, Some rivers have closures and marine park sanctuary sections , but unless otherwise indicated, tidal waters are ok. The best thing to do is check with fisheries and marine park authorities to double check if in doubt :)

Great stuff - you've inspired me to drag out the kayak and get back into overnighting out of it as I used to do. Love how you're prepared to paddle/walk/drag gear past your camera and return endlessly - now that's commitment! We are spoiled in NSW for options aren't we and you're in a beautiful place. yep Raoul is spot on, its samphire, its a kind of salty succulent. its really nice when fried as it gets nice and crispy. great seasoning when someone forgets the salt haha:) thanks heaps for checking it out !!

I’m a new subscriber who has not seen all your programs, but I have sampled. I think your work is excellent. It gives an authentic impression of your environment. I especially enjoy the ambient sounds of birds, insects, and so on. On one of your bass fishing programs there are some largish lizards perched on branches near or in the water. I could probably find them on the web, but why not just ask the expert - what species? I assume your environment is crocodile-free?

Not sure you're using those round lobster nets the correct way. We use them for crayfish (spiney lobster) where the pointy end of the net cone is weighted and lies on the bottom and the pull rope attaches to the ring at 3 points. Bait in the middle as you have it. Left for ½hr and then pulled up fast so crayfish fall into net cone.

hi mate , we call these traps witches hats and are designed to be a tangle trap, crab crawls towards bait along bottom and gets tangled in the string mesh trying to get at it. I did an early video "Boatcamping, Spearfishing, Crab Trapping Adventure" of crabbing where you can see the results a bit better :) we have a similar trap called a hoop pot that we use for fresh water lobsters and yabbies that works the way you described, check out my "postie with the postie goes west" video to see our set up :)

Yess! New Bamman upload. I'm slowing getting the bits together to go on little adventures myself. Getting a furuno mini stove and pot set. Thinking of buying telescopic rods to fish with as they collapse to nothing. Was also thinking of learning how to trap rabbits, as they are a ubiquitous pest, yet could provide a sustainable food source. You always throw flathead back mate, whether big or small, do you not like to eat them?

the legends at the perly oyster fish shop batmen's bay gave me a bag of flathead frames :)
I thought the water was going to be to dirty to dive as we had a heap of rain the week before so just wanted to be sure I had crab baits :)

I like the stillness quality in your videos that the no talking gives , hearing the sounds of nature is a nice change from some of the YouTube videos you see where they’re giving some mad commentary that they think adds to the video in someway but it’s definitely not doing that
