So great to see my rock gardening predecessors in action. If it weren't for these guys, I don't think I would be out having a blast in the rocks and waves today!!

Gotta love a good ocean spanking every once in awhile to set your head back on and to learn what to do out there. :-)

Rolling in a breaking wave can give more drag using your body as an anchor so the wave wont take you for a surf when you dont want it to! Also if another boater is already on tge wave if you capsize they wont hit you, just glide effortlessly over the keel of your boat. Survival tactics. . :)

No one got hurt. No one died. A few boats got broken but most were repairable. A LOT of fun was had. In 30 years, the Tsunami Rangers always came back safe and sound. It may not look like it but they know what they're doing. They do it on purpose. Because it's fun. For them.

Its only another form of white water kayaking plus they are old clips they have refined there technique and companies are producing boats for this branch of the sport. rock hoping and sea white water. Plus its no more dangerous than going down a class 4 or 5 river

These are clips of the rough stuff, but the Rangers are very skilled at pushing the limits of kayaking on the open coast. They paddle as a self-selected team, practice swimming in rough water, and have developed a methodology for exploring forbidding areas as safely as possible. Note the use of helmets, wetsuits, and in some cases body armor. They even design and build their own kayaks.

You don't want to take a big breaking wave full on body slam. If you have ever done it you would know you likely will get knocked down anyway and worked worse. If you roll before the wave hits you take much less impact and if you stick your paddle up into the wave, you are likely to just roll up.

OH...MY...GOD!!! Thats INSANE!! I like playing in chop with my Pamlico 140, but this is FAAAR more extreme!! This is the most Intense Kayaking I've ever seen. Sorry, But I dont think I am suited for your Organization... I want to live.
