Good idea but it looks like your in a world of shit if you do capsize with the training wheels on. Do you know how difficult that would be, while your in the water and you got to flip it back over? I think a better idea would be , put airbags inside the canoe bow and stern, tie them in good. Learn how to recover from capsize. Practice it under controlled conditions. Your life could depend on it.

BS. I have these on my canoe and it would be almost impossible to capsize this thing. I carry hundreds of dollars of equipment and I don't want to learn how to recover from a capsize, with all of my equipment on the bottom of the lake.

good video. Additional info. Floats try--- Easternmarine or seatlemarine. The floats contribute via their buoyancy so the greater the better. So if you want to build a pretty good one get floats with the highest buoyancy. Cost more but they will offer greater stability. For PVC arms get electrical grade they are the most durable grade. This is an easy build as opposed to spending 200- 300 dollars.

Thanks for the vid. Watched several others, but this was by far the best combo of design, ease of construction, and cost. All said and done, took three hours, at a final cost of $65!

I used 4 - 2 liter soda bottles (filled them with foam)...had to grind the threads down some to get them to fit into the T-fittings. Painted them Forest Green just to dress them up some. I recommend you run a rod thru the bottles to give them some lateral strength.

I built some stabilizers as well and spent around $80. I ended up using cam lock fittings, 2" and 1 1/2" PVC. Cheap swim floatie around PVC. link: You can view the video on my channel. Luv the show BTW!

@stumpling00 i made a set like that for my canoe. They created a bit of drag it I paddled with them down but as stabilizers they worked very well. As stable any boat I've ever been on..

@stumpling00 the pvc will have enough buyouncy but it will be alot heavier my first idea was to use 6" pvc as well but its really heavy compared to the floats keep in mind you already have all that weight of the motor and battery so you dont want any more. These floats are lightweight snd cheap this is my stabilizer system so if you need more info send me a message. -Jesse- FishnTv

do u think a 2-3 ft section of 6inch drain pipe will have the same bouyancy as those floats?i rigged a trolling motor to my yak, but it leans, so i want an outrigger on the motor side to counter balace the lean. what do u think?

ws tarpon good all around boat and fast.... tarpon 16 is super fast but a little more hassle to transport... i think the future is in the hobie yaks... i love the hands free to fish, hobie mirage drive system... plus using your leg muscles instead of upper body extends your range 3 fold.... so that said, i like the hobie revolution, outback and pro angler....ty
