to rotate your kayak easily while your fishing instead of setting your pole down and grabbing your full paddle .. works great comes in handy

I would rather use hand tools. Am looking for a wood paddle for the blade (skeg). Enjoyed this damned video too much. Got nothing done.

A hint for you when painting the fish. Start at the point furthest away from the hand which will be painting. In the case of right handed people, its the left side (top to bottom), working back towards the right. This way, your hand should never get anywhere near any of your fresh paint.
In the case of left handers, start at the right top part of the picture and work your way left,, painting top to bottom as you go.

Awesome, I have the emotion spitfire 9 and only bought it after finding your videos. Most of my rigging is based off your design, now to complete the skeg and put a fish finder on and Ill be just about done. Thank you for the inspiration.

I just found a flat spot to mount them and built the rest up from there. Though the side of the yak wasn't perfectly flat, after all the screws were in, the assembly was rock solid.

Marty... You truly are an artist. I have a question on what you used on the skeg, if anything, to keep your artwork from wearing off. Also, If you would, could you show us how you etched your artwork on to the KonTiki and your cooler? Some of us "non-artists" surely would like to take notes. Excellent way to make a Skeg. Now can you show us how to install it on the Yak? especially the 2 plugs that mount on each side of the Yak, where do you get them and what are they called? Thanks! Good Fishing! The StarHunter

That is the Skeg instructions I was asking about! I am going to make one! Watching the First Red . Some of the buildings looked like they were from the KSC. So Tampa? Have you ever fished close or near KSC?
