People have been asking me how I keep the kayaks up like that.. I pull up to the boat ramp and guys are always looking and asking questions. Well here it is.... Pretty simple how to load 2 kayaks using the roof rack. I use the Swiss Cargo 3 in 1 Kayak Rack. This is a step by step tutorial on how to load the kayaks. Thanks for the great video. I have the same rack, but have had trouble keeping my 12 ft fishing kayak from shifting while transporting. I snugged the straps tight each time.

Depends on how fast you are going, and how strong your roof rack is, if you have the ability to i would always atleast tie the front down to minimize lift

We only tied ours down as shown and had no problems for the more than 500 mile trip.

Took 2 kayaks from Ohio to Northern Georgian Bay - about 550 miles. Followed these instructions on how to mount and tie down the kayaks and had no problems and one was a large fishing kayak. We didn't do any extra tie downs and I often forgot they where there because they were so quiet. We even crossed several bridges with high wind warnings without a hitch! Thanks for the great instructions!!!!!! And just an FYI we were in a minivan not SUV.

So incredibly helpful! My son and I had a new rack and went out yesterday and after 20 minutes on the river, we got word that there were 60 mph winds and hail approaching....thanks to you we got 2 kayaks on the roof and avoided disaster. How do I load one kayak on my own?

Careful with using these mounts on this factory rack. I have the same rack and my front cross member bar bent in half doing 70 on the freeway a few days ago. Cheap aluminum. Lucky I had additional tie down points and I didn't lose the kayaks.

Hi there! How heavy and wide are your kayaks? I am trying to find a rack option for 2 heavy fishing kayaks (75lbs, 36" wide and 100lbs, 35" wide).

Jessie Kenel Yea this one should be good for you.. my kayak is 13 ft and I have a bunch of mods on it making it pretty heavy. Drove for over 3 hours down to Key West with no problems. Good luck to you!

You are the only review I have found then that had a kayak over 50lbs haha We tried the malone stax pro2 rack and the 75lb kayak actually shifted 3 times in the span of a 20 minute drive going less than 60km/hr. Needless to say we are looking for an upgrade before our 2.5hr drive this weekend.

Jessie Kenel The future beach kayak is around 100 lbs and the wilderness is alittle lighter. This rack should do good for you. I've had different fishing kayaks on it and all fit..

Nope... Just like that... Drove it 3+ hours to Key West and no problems... Just make sure your straps arent twisted up or else it will make alot of noise

Thanks dude. I got this rack and I was having a hard time standing on top of my SUV. Now I know to loop the straps beforehand. People should invest in some ratchet straps. They work way better than the cheap ones that come with the rack. Now I just have to find how to better tie off the front and back. You should also tie the slack more than a single knot. Double is better.
