Need to back the camera off so it is not a blur... the auto focus doesn't work so close to the object your trying to film.

Hi, would you repair the drilled holes at the end of the cracks using the scrap plastic method or another way?

The first rule of repairing cracked material is to first expand the crack so the new material could fill the gaps and weld. Repairing from the surface may look nice but will not weld.

The first part of the video shows an incredible good reparation, but I doubt that the "Patch'n go" can firmly bond HDPE.

If you are filling a crack it is a good idea to prevent the crack from extending before filling the crack. Drill a 1/8" hole at the end of the crack to prevent it from extending.

I waited a long time, so I used green Mollies that you use to screw into concrete walls. I worked it out flat and jmelted it with s soldering iron sealed the the hole in the middle. Worked great.

+Parrot Bill Sorry for the late reply. You can purchase some repair plastic from us if you purchased the boat from us. If the boat you have is not a model we sell, I would recommend contacting the dealer you purchased from and they should be able to provide repair material to you.

How durable is the patch and go? Which method is stronger? The melted kayak chips looks to be a better repair.

Caribbean Waterworks .... probably not...hot patch on top of a not as hot kayak crack wouldnt penetrate to the depth of the crack without a v groove....if the original thickness cracked, why wouldnt the superficial thickness be weaker??....the tube sealer, if it really bonds to the hpde, would be better as it was forced into the crack to its depth....IF it bonds as well as melting fusion...

Using the melted plastic is definitely a stonger repair in my opinion. However, on a very small crack or hole, the patch and go works just as well.

good video, but what about the big holes? they look just like the one at the stern of my girlfriend's kyack. she wore a hole by dragging it across the ground.

If you have a big crack that needs to be strong once welded, you need to melt more of the boat than this guys done and thoroughly mix the new and old plastic together in a circular motion...don't heat the boat to the point at which it loses its integrity, but it should be pliable round the crack!
