Way too much effort needed in this demonstration.
Try a lifting airfoil, not symmetrical, or raise the pitch.

DOCWHOK9 you would take a lifting foil for early take off like you need on SUP or Shortboards (see GoFoil).
Here your goal is speed and therefore low drag. You want a foil with less drag at a relatively high speed (for a kayak) here.
A Hu ugh drag, high lift profile or higher AoA will only slow you down.

@kojisitikurac 8 rowers could possible do it if the could some how have a staggered sequence, each rower delayed a little, not enough to collide, but enough spread out the power pulse. Nobody has asked how many watts does this guy put out? Did he collapse in purple faced gasping fit immediately after the video shut off? Better yet, put a hotrodded 49cc weed eater motor on it and make it practical!

lol better than the one we had at our club, i think the foils were further apart, it bent the boat in half when Olympic standard people whent in it xD

Das ist wohl die dümmste Erklärung welche ich je gehört habe, warum die Hydrofoils Auftrieb generieren. Es ist doch nicht der Bernouli Effekt (Sog) sondern die leicht abwärts gerichtete Beschleunigung des Wassers, welche als Reaktion Auftrieb macht.. Der bernouli-Effekt hat nur einen verschwindend kleinen Anteil am Auftrieb von Flügeln..

Better than i could do but I noticed the bottom suface if the foil was curved. Following air water dynamics it should be flatter like an airplanes wing. The only difference between air abd water dynamics is density. I make airplane props essencially the same dynamics as a wing, or foil. Great design lots of fun.

ok so i understand that when the boat lifts from the water that the drag is reduced and the energy needed to keep it there is less. but from what i see it still takes alot of effort to keep it there. maybe add more fins so id comes out the water sooner and comes into effect with less work ? i dono

Well, when you are over the bump of getting out of the water, the resistance drops a lot. And then you can just paddle without so much force.

He sure is exerting alot of energy to get this up to hydro planning speed. How long can a human last at that exertion level....don't see the point in this. Sure it's possible...don't mean it's practical.

If the foils are wider than the hull, you will actually be more stable. For example, the Internation Foiling Moth.

one in my canoe club tries to build one by himself i think he ordered the "wings" from nelo i tried it today but i dont gets fast i was just very high above the water
