I just picked up one of these yesterday at Academy for 70 bucks. I'm a moron and even I could figure out how to assemble it! it's definitely a bit "shakier" and takes some more balancing at first if you're used to a rigid kayak. hopefully I'll get more comfortable with it the next few times I get it out on the water. I wonder how it does in the currents of even a calm river?

You seem like a city butch boy your wife has a better attitude. You get what you pay for. You're probably one of those ones it use hella bug spray and have a AC for your tent to when you go camping.

awhatzable do not waste your money on this crappy kayak I took mine out one time and it was very on easy to operate not knowing whether I was going to tip over I absolutely do not recommend this kayak to anyone

I have a two person inflatable kayak..used it for the first time last week on a lake, it was great fun. I also tried it out on the sea yesterday when we was at the beach..no good at all, it's way to dangerous.

They sell them at target, Walmart and Amazon. The detail you care about is, do you want to run it off your car 12V plug or plug it into the wall 110V..

Nice the skeg is needed for going into lakes with heavier waves. I have the explorer k2 and the one shown here the challenger k1. When you leaving a beach area you can not go inside the kayak as the skeg is underneath it to launch it so make sure the water launch area is at least 3 feet deep. Reverse the kayak so the back is facing the lake as this way the skeg is in the deeper part of the water.

how exactly does that keep u safe from sharks tho ? as an active diver ide be nervous a shark would bite it.

You're inflating it wrong. You inflate inside first, then the outside, you've also made the mistake they tell you also, and that is to blow it up with pump provided, go look and you'll see I'm correct...Paul.

I am 5'10" and have stopped putting the front airbag in the front to get a couple extra inches. I feel the difference when the water gets rough.

No. Not in Maryland. I'd be surprised if you need a tag anywhere . But where ether is a politician with an idea, there usually is a tax. :-/

Does using the electric pump in deflate mode work on this bad boy? I'm having trouble getting all the air out manually.

If you remove both pieces of the boston valve then it should deflate quickly, however the deflate mode on a pump can help at the very end.

It's a month later and we are using this more than out rigid kayaks. Why? It's more convenient. Otherwise, I would use my rigid most of the time.

We are still using ours. We like calm water. Rougher water, saw with big waves from other boats made me nervous. Too much water splashing over the top. So I wouldn't recommend these for white water. I am 5'10" and the green air bag that slides inside to the front makes the kayak a hair too short. So, I don't put it in. This has the effect of making the top front of the kayak to dip a little. If I hadn't removed it, maybe the rougher water wouldn't have been as worrisome.

The following day, we did Weeks Creek. It was a windy day. This kayak was not very effected by the wind. A relief. I had worried that an inflatable would be blown down wind.

I removed the float bag from the nose. I had more foot space and was much more comfortable. The boat stayed rigid. I am 5'10" and figure that you can't be much taller and fit in this kayak.
