In aus we use offshore fishing kayaks (stealth brand) which stash your gear in a hatch so nothing gets wet/lost and just plow right through those breakers and surf them on the way in :) A good tactic to learn is to paddle backwards, then just forward hard for a couple seconds before a breaker comes, then backward again keeping your nose facing the waves at all time. Paddling sideways in surf can be hazardous for you and other water users.

Thanks for the tips buddy I would normally never paddle horizontally, but I've surfed this break all my life it's called table tops. There's a tabletop reef that drops off into a deep channel where I was paddling but, you can't see it in the video. Going to get a different kayak soon I'll look into the offshore fishing kayaks a lot of people use them here too maybe 1/4.

I get out there as much as I can!! Kind of a hectic time of year for me I've gotta move while working 7 days a week I get super busy through january then I'll take a month long fishing/surfing trip. Videos coming soon, I still fish afterwork whenever I have time.
