Thanks
- Rod and paddle leashes
- Spare carabiners
- Paracord (packs small but works for all kinds of things -- lashing, back-up paddle leash, anchor line, shoe laces, etc)
- Bottled water (keeps you hydrated and if you get stuck by a hook or cut, you can rinse out the wound with clean water rather than using dirty lake, river or sea water)
Thanks for the tips made me reflect on having a life jacket. Just bought a fishing kayak and didn't think about the life jacket although I can swim.

What about a net over the crate top? What if you flip the kayak?
Also , what's your opinion of the SeaGhost?
and great videos keep them up
Here's a tip that I do:
If you're using leader rigs (whether they be tandem, Carolinas, Popping Cork):
1. Tie each leader at home with all essentials (swivels, sinkers, hooks, etc)
2. Place each leader in its own sandwich size Ziplock bag and label with a marker.
3. Place all the leader bags in a larger quart-size or gallon size bag.
This way, it stays organized, you wont risk having tangled leaders when you're swapping rigs, and water wont get in to corrode your hooks & sinkers.
The cheap standard quality bags are fine, but I prefer the heavy strength "One-zip" bags (easier to open, longer lasting)
PS: Me and my son passed by the Texas Redtail Rod booth on Sunday, but didn't get a chance to stop and say hi. We were in a time crunch.
