In this episode of YakFish TV, Robert Field takes a trip to the Florida gulf coast with one goal: to catch a variety of new species from the kayak. The first target: sharks. Come along for the ride as he heads offshore on the Forgotten Coast in search of some big toothy fish from his 12-foot Hobie kayak. Featuring tips for enticing big fish to bite, techniques for fighting and landing a big shark safely, and non-stop action, this film is a wild ride from start to finish. Robert accomplishes his goal of landing a new species, but it does not come easy. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Follow Me on Social! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Facebook → http://bit.ly/RF_FBook Instagram → http://bit.ly/RF_IG Twitter → http://bit.ly/RF_Tweet Google+ → http://bit.ly/RF_G-Plus ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Follow YakFish TV on Social! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Facebook → http://bit.ly/YFTV_FB Instagram→ http://bit.ly/YFTV_IG Twitter → http://bit.ly/YFTV_Tweet Website → http://www.yakfish.tv ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ My Favorite Brands ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ http://www.nrs.com http://www.accentpaddles.com http://www.railblaza.com http://www.fishbrain.com http://www.yak-gear.com ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Shop the Gear I Use! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Main Camera → http://bit.ly/RJF_DSLR Action Camera → http://bit.ly/RJF_GoPro Editing Software → http://bit.ly/RJF_Editing Audio Recorder → http://bit.ly/RJF_Audio Camera Boom → http://bit.ly/RJF_Boom Rod Holder → http://bit.ly/RJF_RodHolder Spin Rod/Reel → http://bit.ly/RJF_SpinCombo Casting Reel → http://bit.ly/RJF_CastReel

They cost next to nothing and save a lot of messing about.
Ideal if your catching north Atlantic mackrel because if you touch them with dry hands it kills them.
Mortality is normally around 5 days.
I had never seen a T-bar until I went wreck fishing but I don't fish without one now.
Great video by the way and thanks for sharing.

How are they called?
I mean those that go from the kayak to the go pro. I saw that there are some called RAM here in Argentina but they are not those.
Could you show me?
I leave you my Fan Page in case you want to take a little talk around. A hug

Advice. Learn to roll before getting into real whitewater. If not you'll be swimming. A kayaker never bails unless forced to. Take good care. Smiles

Ur probably one of the best friend to sharks these days, as most sports fisherman are & always have been. Also, it seems many have not watched the videos in which u remove the hooks, which seems to be the biggest & only objection anyone has mentioned. Even I questioned the practice of leaving hooks in, until I learned more about sharks' mouths. It's very good that u explained the hook issue & how u deal with it here. Good job. I admire ur integrity & ur hobby. So cool.
By the way, this man is very buff. Does Kayak fishing do this? If so, I'm ready to move to a coast & have my husband take up the hobby. Me too maybe. I've watched a few of these. Great videos.
you should carry an arpon gun for that situations
Kepingin aku xixixixi

I would love to try this one day. I love fishing and kayaking :) on my bucket list
you ok...
i like it
can't you sell the fish(shark)?
how much would cost to sell a 6 footer?(greetings from europe)
First thing is this is an incredible piece of work. You fished it, filmed it and edited it all. Kudos. Honestly you should submit to Sundance FF. I've never been so curious about an ending. Extremely nicely done.
Hello from Russia
Maybe look up the definition of Inshore vs Offshore..
While your Yak is top of the line & that is great. I greatly enjoy seeing some one use reels & rods that are not the newest greatest, cutting edge stuff but has been proven over the years, but some scoff at......GOOD STUFF!!
.
P.s. We're all worried about your safety! Haha good fishing.
Do you ever chum the water to attract them to your bait. Not sure if people do that from a kayak or not.
Appreciate you don't leave the gear behind . The nurse sharks certainly know how to pull , even their body is shaped for it . It was a male btw .
Why don't you swap with the shark then.
Put a hook in your mouth and let him drag you along for a spot of fun.... then when you've had enough just tap him on the fin and he'll release you without even taking a bite. Assclown.

Just a little while later - because it wanted to eat - that shark that was caught and released in the above video - DELIBERATELY KILLED and ATE another (sniffle) poor (sob) marine creature.
And you know what, Com tex? The shark may have just wounded it first and then ate it ALIVE.
And you know what else? That shark felt NOTHING in the way of regret.
I just subscribed to your channel and I love your videos. I also aspire to catch some sharks. I was just wondering how you tied that balloon onto your rig? Thanks a lot!
Just out of curiosity, why not use a reel with lever drag? You loosen and tighten the drag a lot, seems like a lever drag would be easier and more accurate for that.
No picking on Penn's! :) I'm old school, my Penn Long Beach 68 is up for anything. (That's a reel on par with a 6/0 for the younger guys) Obviously you can appreciate the finer things, unlike some that think you have to spend a bunch of money on the "new" stuff. It would suck to have a $600 reel fall out of a Kayak. :) Big Penn's have been bringing in monster fish since before any of us were born. Great vid.
DID YOU FREE HIM FROM THE METAL FROM HIS MOUTH ?
