I just followed the instructions and came up with uneven cable pull!!!!!! Best way to adjust cable lines is to center the blade into the rest position and then have both cables ends thread through hole in end of footbrace rails nearest the seat.

If you slide the footbrace rails too close to the bulkhead you will not get the full movement of the rudder. If you have the rails even with the extrusion and it is too short you are in the wrong boat.The rudder is made to allow the user to trim the boat, it is not made to steer the kayak. The user should be able to control the kayak without the use of a rudder, so "life and Death?" Sounds like you need to check into some touring classes. Not trying to be mean, just think it would really help.

Fantastic overview! Written instructions that come with the rudder are absolutely worthless! It's great to refer to video while installing the rudder! Thanks!
