Kayaking with Orcas 2015 New Zealand

(NOTE: Orcas come in at 2mins after the video starts, after a small conservation message.) This was to be a day of trialling a new kayak. The weather was great, the sun shining and there was absolutely no wind. We launched from Pilot Bay and headed around Mauao (Mount Maunganui) and as we got around the other side, 2 large Orca shot past me in the opposite direction. From there I basically stopped, and let the 2 curious orca, and the rest of the pod which soon turned up, interact and feed on Eagle rays around me. Orca are always an incredible sight to behold and many other people were lucky enough to be able to watch them from the Mount walking track as well on this day. These are our taonga, our treasures, and we MUST take better care of the oceans, and not for us, but for those creatures that call the ocean their 'home'. Special thanks to the organisations and departments around the World that are 'chipping away' and doing what they can to protect the Planets wildlife, both on land and in the Sea. It is because of you that perhaps I am able to see what I see, still. Thanks also to the schools both here, and in the U.S (via Skype) that have allowed me to come and talk about my experiences, and listen to the kids about their experiences with conservation that is being passed down through the teachers. Great to see! Lets keep the momentum going.

This is my dream
Orcas jack and kill dolphins though for some reason... Maybe the same reason why we killed our other hominid cousins who knows.

Also not all orcas are mammal eaters, some ecotypes just eat fish. Not sure about these NZ orcas, but I know some of them love to eat sting rays!
you werent scared??
Yes on youtube, if you cant find it I text it here (y)
I sent you a private message about what do you think about a behave of an Orca, still maybe its fake.
Hahaha, but you would swim for sure, that is the maximum challenge haha
What about instead of kayaking swimming with them? jajajaj
Ok I didnt mean they attack like some other animals, just that is caution, they are so powerful.
So orcas are like big dolphins
Many times, its a pretty huge experiencie almost swimming with Orcas jajajaja but a bit scary, imagine they confuse the kayak with something they eat, they could jump, but well it seems its not their way jaja , so lucky, great video
and great music too
