So we took the kayaks down a small local creek this week looking for some kayak adventure! This small creek is located in the Panhandle of Florida. We took the Banana Boat (Hobie Quest 13) and another small sit in kayak and set off on a kayaking adventure. The Hobie Quest 13 handled the water like a champ. The water and sun was amazing on the super cold clear water. Our fellow paddlers chose to take canoes on this trip which handled the water amazingly well. I was stationed on Eglin back in 88. Your videos bring back fond memories of that time. Beautiful area in its own way. Couldn't get used to how flat Florida is. I do miss the white sand beaches and warm water. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

I use to work all over Florida . We put in a bunch of conduet and pipe for fiber optics . I loved paddling at Wakiva springs , Tampa bay ,Largo bay , BlackWater River and countless other small tributaries. The water at the springs was so clear. We have pretty clear water here in the Ozarks of Missouri also. You are right though there is a big difference in open water and rivers or streams. Thanks for the beautiful video. I realy love floating small rivers and streams most of all. There is a surprise around every corner. Safe yaking to you and all your friends.

Danny Roberts making me miss living in Central Florida, paddled all those areas and more.

Though here in central Texas I live on the Llano river which is pretty clear and has rapids along with great fishing so all isn't bad.

Pretty sure I know where you are.... not sure if your on post or off. Looks like around Eglin, near one of the ranges in one part but I'm pretty sure you were south of 85.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. One thing I learned going with the flow of the river, I just use my paddle as a rudder to minimize the turning and of the boat. I paddle if I need to catch up or more open space.

Great video.

Did you know that Hobie sells a "T" attachment that can be used on one of your paddle halves?

This might be something to look into getting so you don't have to carry a full paddle and a canoe paddle. Just keep the "T" part inside your kayak for days when you may need to switch over to a half paddle.

There's no way I could get my pro angler down that river. You should try an overnight trip down Blackwater river. It's a blast!

I love that place! A lot of neat trails to take the jeeps down and have fun on... We swim in there a lot but never tried kayaking down it yet... Like a comment above cold water creek is a good place to.. There are public trails (actual roads but dirt and muddy) that you can go down to get to it and launch anywhere you want.. We have a spot we like to ride out on the sandbar and picnic at..
