GORGEOUS!!!! I'm assuming there're a couple bulkheads for the fore & aft storage compartments. Those and the FG and Kev work should give more than enough stability against torquing. Man what I wouldn't give for a shop where I could try this.

its attention intensive. be careful and youll do fine. you dont need to be a swiss cabinet maker. be careful and take your time and youll at least have a nice kayak that oull get heaps of praise on.

Its extremely stable without the ribs and such normally associated with other craft. It does not twist, or deform in any way. The composite structure is VERY rigid.

Alright, thanks a lot for the answer. I ordered the Kayak-building book of Nick Schade (guillemot12) yesterday - I hope everything else will be explained there. Maybe I will order one of his plans.

Its fiberglassed, and epoxied with carbon fiber kevlar material thus made hard. The carbon fiber material being as tough as steel and flexible until made rigid with epoxy. SO im guessing its structurally stable without ribs. It didnt have ribs at all though, the wood you see at the beginning is like a mould use to guide the strips into place then glued shut to each other.
