People often use outriggers on kayaks and canoes when motoring or sailing - nothing new here. This makes it more difficult to launch and to paddle, you can't have everything. OTH, paddling or rowing even a small power boat (if motor fails) or a day-sailing boat (when there is no wind) is near impossible. Not the best setup in video, btw.

if you look closely, the ripples and imperfections make it look like fiberglass layed up over styrofoam . looks like he ground and filed the styro foam block into the four shapes(Two pontoons and two our rigger wings) then simply layed up about 3/16 th thick fiberglass, painted it, and then with a metal strip screwed the pontoons to the wings.... least thats how this 40 year fabricator sees this one and how he would build this cheap and easy, all materials could be bought at Lowes or any good box chain store for home improvement. this is how a surfboard is made as well , "Glass over foam" layup!

But yeah, that outrigger looks like it was molded in a factory and not home made. Engine and fuel are off set by the buoyancy of the pontoons. Next time, Mister Kang, just secure the camera to the boy of the hull facing aft, okay?

The real problem with getting this thing to perform properly is engine height. Right now a kayak transom is like 6''. you would need to raise the motor waay up so that the cavitation plate is atleast even with the bottom, but it would be even worse with stability. Would be twice as fast and efficient, though.

With regard to foot steering controls, I have seen a few innovative guys adapt a kayak's OEM rudder controls to turn modified trolling motors (shortened and modified to have controls extended to cockpit)) troll motor simply attached in place of OEM rudder! ....very clean setups! Perfect solution... I would think?...no?

Pretty neat setup. That thing sure will scoot. Ever think about putting foot controlled steering in it; should be fairly easy with some pulleys and cables. That way your hands are completely free to do whatever you need to do. I would put the wheels behind the seat if possible. With a little modification to them, you could use them as a back support, just attach a thick piece of memory foam or something. All in all, I like it. Good job man.

3mm luanne though preferably 3mm okoume covered in 6 oz. glass cloth saturated in epoxy. fill the weave of the cloth and sand smooth, Next paint. The method with the 3mm luanne or okoume is referred to as stitch and glue. quite easy quite frankly. for what he did, your looking at maybe 50 hours work. Id lose the idea of one common outrigger and have two instead. lighter in the end and stronger. too, id angle those outriggers up a bit. too much submarining.
