yeah... but how do you adjust the length of your anchor line?

I don't quite understand. anchor depth can vary so much. 10 ft. to 30 ft. You don't let out all the line, do you, in just 10 ft. of water.

Is kayak fishing suppose to be fun? Looks like paddle, anchor, fish....paddle, anchor, fish. You call that fishing?

Hell YES, it's fun. (Unless you get a kick out of spending all your time in your Parent's Basement...!) Outdoors, man (or woman, if that's the case!)

Twin Troller is getting on other people's YouTube channel to try and promote your ridiculously overpriced Jon Boat fun?

Agreed! Thanks for showing "HOW" the anchor is used. I was getting blown around the lake today (second time kayak fishing on a borrowed boat; now shopping for my own). I hit YouTube tonight to learn how to anchor. Thanks for the information! What type of rope do you use and knot to the anchor? Please share that thanks!

very dangerous way to anchor up in any current or chop. Anyone looking to anchor in a river or ocean should never use this style, always use a quick release option.

How does this style work? Where is the quick release located on the line? Thanks man

Good video. I see videos on the anchor trolley system installation but didn't know how it should be used.

whats the purpose of having a float on the anchor line?.. Is it necessary even in canals and lakes that dont have much current

I have a 14' Necky Touring Kayak set up for fishing. I made the Anchor to stay in one spot for either Lakes or Marshes near Folley Beach, SC. If I get a fish I can easily unhook the Anchor from the anchor trolley line and come back to it. The float will be easy to find / retrieve

Is Dunedin causeway/honeymoon island?

I said the same thing. I'm getting married out there in October 2016. I also virtually grew up out in the exact area. My mother's (R.I.P.) favorite place to be was out there at the causeway/beach. Almost everything I know about the sea-life in the Gulf of Mexico I learned from that beach. It has always been bitter-sweet being out there after we lost Mom in 1984.
One more thing, there was a 13' hammerhead shark caught off the tip of "Pet Beach" when I was a kid. Yes Indeed! :)

Hey how do these native kayaks do on choppy water , like out in the ocean as they have a flat bottom ? Are they stable .Thanks

Yes if the line isn't long enough it won't touch the bottom. 50 ft is normal

Does it matter how deep the water is and how long your anchor line is?
Native Watercraft
Native Watercraft - 11 years ago
Nope, it threads through the cleats and ties to clips that fasten together.
laurasautographs
laurasautographs - 11 years ago
so you don't actually need to tie the rope to a cleat or anything?
