Alex mate just to let you know. The first fish you caught that you didn't know the name of was a COD the first 2 flat fish you thought were halibut were flounder. But the 3rd flat fish the one that was thicker was a halibut. Like you said at the end of the video

Some of the lighter colored flat fish with longer fins you were catching arent halibut there are various species of soul and flounder that only get to 5 lbs or so.

when you tie on a vertical jig with assist hooks, you tie to the metal ring that attaches the split ring and the bait not the bottom of the bait. I know it seems weird at first, but it works well and is made like that for a reason. Good luck, try it out.

The funny thing is that he thought that reeling up a fish in 100 feet of water was bad when I went to Alaska at the beginning of summer and we were fishing in 300 feet and reeling up halibut 50 plus pounds

The First was a Pacific Cod. Atlantic Cod, which is out here in Newfoundland are a bit darker in color. Both great eatin fish!
