These detectives were blinded by that girl. When they found out she did it they were just baffled! They missed the plug not being in the kayak they missed the ring being gone off the paddle. Seriously, she had a motive from the beginning and acted completely relieved after the fact even inviting the detectives out to party during a search. They should have gone to kayak expert the first DAY they found the boat if they dont know ANYTHING about them. As soon as I clicked on the first video I was wondering about the plug. Its comkon sense but they were blinded by her innocence.

I had my father married to a woman like this, very similar. She and he were married and close, but after a few years he gave an ultimatum- if she didn't go back to school or get a job, they couldn't stay married with him able to support his family. She was a huge financial drain, and she wasn't helping out or working (no kids to watch at home either- just watching TV all day.). She went off like this and tried to take his life, and ruin him in many ways. He just got back on his feet in the last 6 months after 3-4 years of court battles and accusations.

I know my father is a good man. She said, under oath, in court, that he had been beating me and my siblings. I can say it isn't true.

I can believe that she did that to her fiance because of the ultimatum.

If there was no plug in the kayak how the hell do you get in the kayak and not have water coming in immediately and still paddle out like whatever let's go for 40min kayak back. Then detectives say in there tests on calm water the kayak sinks constantly in 7-10 min without the plug, so its 40 min paddle back and he sinks faster than there 7-10min test because the report was weather picked up so its was not calm and Vince couldnt manage to swim back to the island????

I wouldn't go out on that water without being in a full 7mm wetsuit. 50 degrees/50 minutes/50% survival. That is a trip you make in a 10 foot inflatable with an 8-10 hp outboard, not a kayak and street clothes. He put his life in the hands of his crazy Russian girlfriend. My only question is this, how did he not notice the ring on the paddle was missing? They were roughly 20 minutes into their journey back before he capsized. So why would an experienced kayak-er like Vince not notice the paddle ring was missing within seconds if not a couple of minutes of them taking off? Obviously she's guilty, but I feel like Vince should have noticed, given the added difficulty of paddling without that ring attached. I guess it would be easy to miss the drain plug, and even if he did notice it before capsizing, was probably already too far out to go back. I'm just a bit confused in regards to the apparent sabotage of the paddle.

Once on a really choppy day didn’t notice until I was over 6 hours into my paddle. Hardly took in any water at all. Lucky I guess

2dthoughts it might depend on the type/brand of kayak and the weight it’s carrying. If a light person is in it and doesn’t carry much then the kayak doesn’t dip as much in the water so the plug will probably be far enough from the water only a little bit will get in on a pretty smooth day. If a heavier person loading the kayak with a few things it would weigh it down a bit more causing the plug to be at a closer level to the water.

Innocent until proven guilty. Lawyers are also not allowed to know whether their client is guilty or not, they only need information to develop a defence case. she was really really dumb, but most murderers are actually very dumb, because most believe that they are smarter than detectives(which are not run of the mill black-people-murdering low IQ traffic cops) and this one in particular didn't even grasp the gravity of what she did and still thought the VERY first time she spoke to the detective on the island that he was just have a casual chat with her and that is why she spilled her guts and she thought he was hot. that was a good move on the detectives part. they knew giving her the choice would relax her and she picked the hot detective to open up to.
