I was surprised that the pontoons provided you with such good stability m given how far towards the rear you chose to plac them,,
I suppose you had to place them that far back so as to prevent interference with your paddling stroke
right?

, here is an idea, make a slight compromise in the paddle technique
or is that asking the impossible
I got a feeling I am going to drill four holes only to regret it and then drill four more
no biggy
oh I should explain, see I cannot and do not want to be able to adjust the arms
here is how that came to be
I plan on mounting the base on the SIDE of the yak,
thus I gain a few more inches of extension of the arms, and thus greater stability, but right I lose the abilty to adjust the arms
a trade off, But really a gain ,even if I have to drill a few times to get it right
