When the water level is rising, it is a rising tide. When the water level is falling, it is a falling tide. The current coming in from the sea is a Flood current. The current flowing out to sea is an Ebb current. Slack water is when there is no horizontal current flow. Stand is when there is no vertical movement of the water. Flood tide, Ebb tide or Slack Tide are incorrect terms. See cruising.bc.ca/tide-or-current.html
