Unless you live in a country where a ski resort allows this or can afford regular helicopter rides you'll be hiking to the top in that powder while carrying your kayak. Also, since you'll only be able to do it in the backcountry, you'll very likely end up underneath an avalanche.

ok, so someone that lives in western NC might call this "deep powder" and that might be different than what a person in the rock mountains or Canada calls "deep powder"...
anyway, my point was there is not that much control and it will not slide very fast if you try this on just a few inches of snow or just on ice...

Colby Jurgensen the Jackson Zen that he was using has a full planning hole with a sharp edge on it so it does have the ability to carve. Your whitewater boat, I'm guessing has a displacement Hull with softer features on the hull.

Yeah, it seems hard and super sketchy, there's no way to grab an edge to slow down. My WW boat goes about the same speed in any direction, including slideways.

Colby Jurgensen colby you should not trying to direct you to my channel but I went down and icy snowy road down the side of the mountain and I got going so fast I got airborne and I flipped I tried to pass my buddy but hit the ruts and flipped! Well i rolled back over but was backwards haha then all hell broke loose! i ended up crashin! Then I got back on it did the gravel road, at the bottom one of our "fans" was taking a picture for her facebook IN THE MIDDLE of the road! like i had brakes or something.. hah i couldnt stop and clipped her feet as she was running to the side! Its called chaos paddlers snow sledding you should check it out its fun! And definitely try to its an experience ull never forget btw u have control just like on water just a bit different haha
