Even the best lifters shouldn't try and go to failure - that's when accidents happen.
However like you said, everybody is different and I won't argue with that obviously.
If you look at the end of her set, you can see how she had to take a pause and then at the very end she started another repetition but couldn't finish it. That's going further than fatigue. I agree that all the other reps were well controlled though.
If you regularly load and compress your spine you run the risk of causing minute stress fractures. According to the ACSM (the current gold standard organisation for exercise) even doing lots of curl ups/sit ups can lead to stress fractures (but not in the same area of the spine).
