Always remember the difference between inexpensive and cheap. This one is definitely on the cheap. Get on the water as fast as you can, but start with something that can take abuse like a perception pescador 10. Sub $500 and it's not a pool toy

If you can get it on sale it’s a great deal! If you have to pay full price I’d go for something bigger. Maybe something around 12’ that you can stand on comfortably

Tarpon 120 or Pescador Pro 12 with Lowrance Hook4. Right around $1k but will last over a decade. Have two Tarpons that are 8yrs and have been beaten up, still rocking like brand new. The biggest issue with buying low budget kayaks is the 2-peice molding or poor hull/rudder. Since I cover over 400 acres a month, tracking is a must. Better to have a good tracking kayak without the mods than buying a cheaper one and installing one on it. The Hook4 because you can then use Insightgenesis or lakeTrax and take advantage of using historic data to locate structure faster.

I have this exact kayak and I use a crate on the back and have it filled with Plano boxes and I've found that I have no room for soft plastics, does anyone have any suggestions?

dude, i got my crate from target. measures 13" by 14" inside. this fits 5 standard size tackle boxes and 1 deep one. by standard i mean like a flambeau 5007. i would worry that in a kayak, a bag in a crate is going to be really annoying. bags are kinda annoying for me anyways though. hope this helps.

Dawson James - I know this post is old, but Bass Pro Shops sells a tackle bag that specifically fits IN a milk crate. It's made by Plano, and has enough storage to fit anything you would need for a day of fishing. It sells for $49.99. I'm getting a kayak soon, so I've been researching related products for fishing and found the tackle bag.

i keep all my panfish plastics in a flambou box, in the packs with all the tabs removed, and i keep all my larger plastics in a flambou "ike" plastics box. but, i upgraded to a black plastic tote i got at lowes from a crate. best 20 bucks ive ever spent.

Dawson James I take a one gallon freezer bag and fill it with bags of plastics. It's more than enough for a day of fishing, and it'll fit in the front center hatch.

can mark em in the striker already built in. I think the navionics maps ya have to pay for (i could be wrong) but I thought I saw em for like $199 or something crazy lol.

Danejah H Yeah I have the 4x dsi but I'd rather have the striker because mine doesn't have gps. Just gonna get a ram mount for my phone on my boat and download navionics soon so I can mark waypoints.

Bluefin kayaks are AWFUL NOW. Company is either scammers of has no organization, delays shipping for weeks, doesn't respond to emails or ship where they claim to, and good luck getting a refund. Sad as we wanted to love them. There are other affordable fishing kayaks that won't cost you weeks of waiting and emailing time lost.

I agree that this is a stellar budget kayak. In fact I've been fishing outta one for over a year now and I go out about every weekend. so it's been through it paces and has held up great. I'm so happy that even though I could upgrade now. I have no desire to. now that I have it dialed in with all the mods I've done to mine . can't recommend it enough. Don't think someone could possibly be disappointed for the price and especially if it's someone's first attempt at kayak fishing.

how big of a hole did you drill out for the transducer? how long did the duct seal have to dry before your able to use it? any issues with leaks? looks easy to install and great video man

you don't drill a hole for the transducer, the signal will shoot through the hull and give you an accurate reading. the putty stuff just keeps it in place.

Do you use a kayak trolley cart thing to transport your kayak to the water? I'd be fishing places where I'd have to walk 20yds plus to the water and am not sure if I should get a cart.

Floyd Outdoors I don't have one right now. I usually just pull up as close as I can get, and carry the unloaded kayak to the water. Then I load all my stuff in it. A cart would be really nice.

I have an emotion stealth 11, which is similar to this kayak. I did the same thing with duct seal and it's been working perfect for over a year now. The only thing I've noticed is the duct seal shifting wich is probably from the hot temps in the kayak. Great videos.

Andrew Merris I always have my best luck on the north end of the lake, above the railroad bridge all the way to where the okaw enters the lake. I've caught a lot of white bass in the okaw.

Nice review. Thanks. I have the Sun Dolphin, 10'. I got it for about $225 and have modified the heck out of it (stadium seat, anchor trolley, rudder, etc and I will be doing a video soon about those mods). It is a great kayak but not super stable. Can you stand up in your Lifetime? I do a lot of sight fishing for redfish and trout down here in FL but it is harder if you can't stand up. But I am not ready to drop a couple grand on a Native or a Hobie. :-) I always tell everyone that you can get into kayak fishing pretty cheap and you don't have to spend a fortune. It's better to fish from a couple hundred dollar kayak than wishing you had a Hobie but not be fishing. :-) Enjoy kayak fishing!!! I sure do!

10-4 I run a Ascend FS128T with 999ci on a Minn kota terrova sonar on the motor it's nice and clear but I tried a 2 part and had bubbles my screen pics were really noisy

Gills_Grills _And_Yaks it isn't a two part epoxy. Comes in a block so air bubbles aren't too much of a problem

I will mention if you use that epoxy and have alot of bubbles in your mix it'll show up on your screen.. mix let settle pour let settle then mash in slowly

Question. I have the same kayak. Are you having issues with some water getting into the hull?? Wondering what would be a easy fix to get that solved. I think water gets in from the two hull covers

Jon Carlo rosas I haven't had any issues with it, but I haven't been out on any really rough water. I don't think those lids are waterproof. I would run a bead of marine goop around the seams, should help.
