Armchair athlete? Athlete maybe not but an avid kayaker yes. Please view the videos on my channel of me and my friends running various grades of rivers up to grade 4+. I am level 4 standard paddler who has been paddling for 4 years. As for him being better than me? He probably is. Still doesnt mean he shouldn't wear a helmet whilst instructing. Also I am entitled to give an opinion so whether you agree with it or not please dont make personal attacks and deal with the content of my argument.

You are just a snooty little know-it-all armchair athlete type that corrects people who are most assuredly better than you. I would not wear a seat-belt in a car if I was practicing parking in a vacant parking lot, so yes I view it as a valid argument, as well as I did not wear a helmet at the pool when I was practicing rolling. You are far too concerned about petty shit, you should do your own videos if you could improve upon what's said, or just shut up.

Yes, really. What has not paying got to do with it? Just because I dont approve of the way this man doesn't wear a helmet does not mean that I should simply "go elsewhere". The point is that wearing a helmet is an important safety element of the sport I am part of. Would you not put on a seatbelt when you get in the car just because you were "practicing"? The only practicing thing is a horseshit argument. Actively promoting safety is an integral part of an instructors role.

For the record I always wear my helmet when in anything where waves are breaking, and often take it off on calm lakes when I am practicing. I understand your concern, but really? You didn't pay for this instruction, if you don't like it, go elsewhere.

Again with the helmet? @ 1:09 Seriously. As an instructor you are there to pass on your knowledge of the sport. Wearing a helmet is a very basic safety aspect of the sport. Not wearing a helmet promotes "no helmet wearing" amoungst your students. Wether its grade 5 or flat water: WEAR A HELMET!!!!!!
