You can see the shill accounts easily... They are only active around the time they did the review... no comments on other forums... no recent uploads. etc :)

There would seem to be a lot of shill profiles giving shill reviews on this product. I am actually looking to buy an inflatable and my only real criteria is that it does not split and leak after 2 weeks of very kid-glove use.
Given the shills- positive reviews from users that have no history, comments or uploads etc.... I will sadly have to miss this one.

Explorer - Cheaper, slightly more open room, and rides a little higher off the water. Challenger - Slightly faster due to slimmer profile and more covered room. I was able to find the Explorer for $79, but the Challenger is currently running for $129. That's a huge discount IMO, so I went with the Explorer.

+daniel muvdi I don't know but i got the explorer recently and am very happy with it. Rock solid stable too. Going to buy the challenger now as well so 4 of us can go out. I'm guessing being slimmer it's faster but will see...

I want to get this kayak kind of. But Im really debating between this and an actual kayak, the only thing that stops me from getting this one is the fact that I want something that can be reliable and last a couple years, anybody got any advice. I dont know what to do. Oh and i should add I will use whatever I get to fish.

if you're fishing, you'd be better off to get an actual kayak though you should also consider the cost. I got the k2 for $70 bucks vs. a real kayak that could be hundreds of dollars

I bought this kayak and rode around separately for about 2 weeks and got another one because of a defect it had on the seam. I got another one and the seam ripped again.

Hello i have a question about this product. I'm interested in buying one but i'm not sure which one. Mostly i will use it on my own but occasionaly with my girlfriend. I'm 1,76m and 85 kgr. How is it the k2 when ridden by one person, which one feels better when there's only one person in them the k1 or the k2? Thank you in advance!

Please make a video showing how to fold the Intex K1 so that it fits into the bag.  Mine ends up so bulky there's no way to fit it.  Thanks.
Kevin Dempsey
Kevin Dempsey - 9 years ago
+Edinka Le Its easy if you follow the intstructions but here how to do it;Lay the kayak flat. Now fold ONE THIRD of the length over to the other third. Fold the second third onto the first so you should now have a long, thin kayak.
Now imagine in divided into quarters. Fold the front quarter onto the next quarter but not over the half way line. Do the same with the rear. Now fold them together along the middle and thats it done.
It's a qood idea to squeeze all the air out first as much as you can and you;ll find you have plenty space in the bag.

i know this video is for the K2, but i have question about the K1. after looking around a bit, i've found that the weight capacity is listed as 220 pounds. i willing to bet it will hold more. can anyone attest to this? i ask because i have the explorer K2. it is listed as 400, but with me and a friend, i've had 440 in there with no problem. i weigh 230 lbs and i just want to make sure before dropping any money.

Bought this last week and just today been out on the sea in it. Very good. Felt sturdy and quite sea-worthy. Great stuff.

My wife and I bought the green and black K2 a few weeks back and absolutely love it. I weigh just under 200lbs and my wife about 130lbs and it handles just fine. I fit in the back very nicely at 5'8" and my wife has plenty of room up front at 5'1", although we could easily swap. The skeg on this model makes all the difference. I attached a line to it and clamped it to the back end of the boat, in case the skeg gets knocked off by rocks. So far this has not happened in 3 trips. I do all the paddling so I lengthened my paddles using a section from the second unused paddle, with extends my stroke and prevents splashing water into the kayak. I use a battery powered air mattress pump to get it mostly inflated, then the included pump to top it up. Nice to have a boat I can throw in the back of my Jeep! It has been a blast so far!

Rupert, You could remove the seats and still use it, it may not be as comfortable but would be manageable. as for stability it is much more stable than normal kayaks and by the bottom being flat it gives great stability on the water.

Jim, you're right, whenever purchasing the intex products especially when the newer models you want to make sure you're getting the newest models!

I purchased the green and black K2 Kayak last week. It was delivered today. What I received was the very early model (blue and yellow) with no steering fins, very poorly designed seats and a 265 lb weight limit. Be very careful when buying Intex products. They have been repacking their older outdated inventory by inserting these items into the newer boxes. Item was returned to either provide what I order or provide a 100% refund

It is one chamber together so you cannot inflate just the top of the seat.

You maybe sit a little higher than the old model but it is very comfortable, We like this years seats better!

Probably I could inflate the back portion as inflating the bottom portion made me feel like I was sitting too high in the boat? Is it possible to inflate the back or the bottom in the seat separately?
coyotedk
coyotedk - 11 years ago
In the new model, you are sitting higher than the previous model because of the seats? In the video you are not inside the kayak as before?
